There is described a wheel axle for an agricultural vehicle such as a combine harvester. The wheel axle has at least one wheel suspension () arranged to maintain a wheel axle parallel to the supporting surface, through use of a linkage arrangement () which is pivotally coupled to the axle frame (). The configuration of the wheel suspension allows for the wheel axis to passively follow the surface profile, as any loads transmitted through the wheel carrier act to level out the wheel suspension to align with the underlying surface. As the wheel axle is adjusted to lie parallel with the underlying surface, accordingly the ground-contacting surface area of the associated wheels is maximised.

In a grain unloading system for a combine harvester a grain bin includes a frame, the frame has a floor with a trough. An unloading auger is disposed at least partially within the trough. An auger cover at least partially covers the auger. The auger cover has a hat for a top portion of the auger cover and a pair of gates movable between the hat and locations on the floor that are proximal to the trough. A gate adjustment structure is coupled to the pair of gates to move the pair of gates relative to the auger. A control system is coupled to the gate adjustment structure and configured to control the gate adjustment structure.

The wheel is steerable through a range of steering angles about a substantially vertical steering axis A fender is mounted above the wheel on a support arm. The support arm is fixed relative to the wheel carrier so as to pivot with the wheel during steering through the whole of said range. The fender is pivotally mounted to the support arm at a pivoting mount located above the wheel. The fender is forced to pivot with respect to the wheel and support arm when the fender engages the vehicle frame.

The line of action of the forces (F-F) applied to the chassis () by the upper arms () at one end of the chassis are be substantially aligned with the line of action of the forces applied to the chassis by the lower arms () at the other end of the chassis to reduce and tendency for the chassis to be twisted by these forces. A first damping means () acts between the chassis () and the upper pivotal mounting means () to control vertical movement of the axle relative to the chassis, and a second damping means acts between the upper pivotal mounting means () and the axle () to provide independent control of the roll movement of the axle relative to the chassis.

When both axles are mounted on the chassis using the above upper () and lower () pairs of arms the line of action of the forces (F-F) applied to the chassis () by the upper arms () at one end of the chassis may be substantially aligned with the line of action of the forces applied to the chassis by the lower arms () at the other end of the chassis to reduce and tendency for the chassis to be twisted by these forces.
