A flameless candle includes a candle body, a light source, and a flame element. The candle body includes an inner region and an upper surface including an aperture. The light source is energized and de-energized selectively to control whether or not a light is emitted. The light emitted by the light source is emitted towards the interior region of the flame element, such that it passes through the interior region and onto the interior surface. The flame element is at least partially transparent or translucent, such that it permits the light to propagate through the flame element and outwardly from the exterior surface. While the light is emitted, the flame element moves with respect to non-moving portions of the candle body. While the light is emitted, at least a portion of the flame element extends through the aperture in the upper surface.

A flameless candle, includes: a body; a light source; a photodetector; and circuitry. The body has a shell surrounding an interior region. The light source emits light that emulates a candle flame. The circuitry detects the voltage across the photodetector and also detects the state of a user input. In response, the circuitry selectively controls the light source by turning it ON or OFF. While the light source is OFF, the circuitry compares the voltage of the photodetector to a first threshold, and when the voltage transitions to less than the first threshold, the circuitry turns the light source ON. While the light source is ON, the circuitry compares the voltage of the photodetector to a second threshold, and when the voltage is greater than the second threshold, the circuitry turns the light source OFF. The first threshold is less than the second threshold.

A body defines an interior region and an exterior region. A liquid-retaining portion retains a liquid. A mist generator transforms the liquid into a mist. A first chamber receives the mist to form mist-infused fluid. A fan applies pressure to fluid in the second chamber. A first fluid-transferring portion: receives at an inlet the mist-infused fluid from the first chamber in the interior region; emits the mist-infused fluid into the exterior region via an outlet; and changes the velocity of the mist-infused fluid between the inlet and the outlet. A second fluid-transferring portion receives at an inlet the fluid from the second chamber in the interior region and emits this fluid into the exterior region via an outlet. A light source emits light to illuminate the mist-infused fluid in the exterior region.

An illumination system includes a plurality of distributed units, each having a light source and a light-source controller. The plurality of light sources simultaneously emits a selected type of light. The system also has a primary controller, which includes power-voltage-delivering circuitry and power-sequence-controlling circuitry. The power-voltage-delivering circuitry delivers a LOW or HIGH power voltage to the plurality of distributed units simultaneously. The power-sequence-controlling circuitry causes the power-voltage-delivering circuitry to automatically transition the power voltage between LOW and HIGH in different sequences corresponding to the type of selected light. Each of the plurality of light-source controllers is configured to detect the power voltage provided to the corresponding distributed unit and cause the corresponding light source to emit the selected light type upon receiving the corresponding sequence while the power voltage is HIGH and at a constant voltage.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a recharging device includes a recharging port that receives a flameless candle and recharges a battery in the candle. The recharging device includes a first stacking structure that has a top portion and a bottom portion. There is a top stacking contact on the top portion. An electrical power bus is connected with the top stacking contact. The electrical power bus is also configured to provide electrical power to the flameless candle through the recharging port. The top portion of the first stacking structure is configured to mate with a bottom portion of a first stacking structure of another recharging device.

A connector assembly for use with dual conductor cable is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a first connector, a second connector, first and second fixture wires, and first and second connector terminals. The first and second connectors are removably attachable. The first connector includes a first connector base, two prongs extending from the first connector base, and a first connector slot for accepting the first connector terminal. The second connector includes a second connector base, two wings extending from the second connector base, and a second connector slot for accepting the second connector terminal. The wings are sized and configured to accept the two prongs when the first and second connectors are joined. The first and second connector terminals include a spike extending generally away from the base of the connector into which the terminal has been secured. The first connector terminal is secured in the first connector in electrical communication with the first fixture wire, and the second connector terminal is secured in the second connector in electrical communication with second fixture wire. The first and second connectors, when joined by the insertion of the prongs between the wings, define a central portion sized to allow the passage of the dual conductor cable to which the first and second connectors are connected. When the first and second connectors are joined with the dual connector cable located in the central portion, the spikes of the first and second terminals penetrate into the dual conductor cable, whereby the dual conductor cable is placed into electrical communication with the first and second fixture wire.

According to embodiments of the present invention, a flameless candle circuit includes an application-specific integrated circuit ('ASIC') having a first power terminal, a second power terminal, and an output. The circuit also includes a light-emitting diode ('LED') and a single-pole switch. The LED is configured to receive a signal from the output of the ASIC. The single-pole switch is configured to selectively provide the battery voltage to at least one of the first power terminal and the second power terminal. Additionally, the single-pole switch is configured to remove the battery voltage from both of the first power terminal and the second power terminal to turn the ASIC off. The ASIC is configured to drive the LED in a first mode when the battery voltage is provided to the first power terminal. The ASIC is also configured to drive the LED in a second mode when the battery voltage is provided to the second power terminal.
