A high-power pulse generator (), belonging to the LTD family, includes two series of power modules, one series of standard modules () and one series of modified modules (), each including a switch (), provided with a trigger electrode (), positioned in series between two capacitors (), the modified modules being designed to produce a pulse at a frequency substantially three times the frequency of the standard modules, and a trigger device () designed to control the standard and modified switches () via a single trigger signal applied to the trigger electrode () of same. The trigger signal is applied to the switches through a trigger impedance () that is different between the standard and modified modules, and the plateau slope of the generated pulse depends on the difference between the value of the standard impedance and that of the modified impedance.

A linear transformer driver includes at least one ferrite ring positioned to accept a load. The linear transformer driver also includes a first, second, and third power delivery module. The first power delivery module sends a first energy in the form of a first pulse to the load. The second power delivery module sends a second energy in the form of a second pulse to the load. The third power delivery module sends a third energy in the form of a third pulse to the load. The linear transformer driver is configured to form a flat-top pulse by the superposition of the first, second, and third pulses. The first, second, and third pulses have different frequencies.
