An apparatus, system and method for pumping gaseous fluid are described. The gas separator of the invention homogenizes at least a portion of produced well fluid and vents unhomogenized gas, improving the efficiency and decreasing the downtime of the assembly. A system for pumping gaseous fluid from an underground well includes a gas separator, the gas separator including an impeller configured to homogenize at least a portion of a gas and a liquid in a pumped fluid to obtain homogenized fluid, the impeller including a top side open to the diffuser and a truncated vane located at a mid-pitch location between at least two untruncated vanes starting from a bottom side of the impeller, and a gas separation chamber downstream of the impeller, the gas separation chamber configured to vent an unhomogenized gas, and a centrifugal pump arranged to receive the homogenized fluid from the gas separation chamber.

Apparatus, system and method for pumping gaseous fluid

A centrifugal pump impeller support system and apparatus is described. A centrifugal pump includes an impeller including an impeller eye skirt extending axially from an eye of the impeller, and in certain stages, a balance ring skirt, and an impeller support insert secured around an outer diameter of at least one of the impeller skirts, each of the at least one impeller support inserts including a sleeve extending tubularly around the impeller skirt, and a flange extending perpendicularly to a longitudinal axis of the centrifugal pump shaft. A diffuser stacked adjacent to the impeller includes a bushing secured around an inner diameter of the diffuser flow exit outward of the impeller eye skirt support insert or a bushing secured around an inner diameter of the flow entrance outward of the balance ring skirt support insert.

Centrifugal pump impeller support system and apparatus

A thrust bearing surface for a floater-style centrifugal pump is described. A thrust bearing system includes a rotatable member including a sleeve, and a flange extending radially on a downstream side of the sleeve, a swirling member on a top of the flange, the swirling member extending axially towards an impeller bottom, wherein as the swirling member rotates, the swirling member guides working fluid in an outwards and upwards direction from the swirling member. A rotating member of a thrust bearing surface includes a sleeve securable to a rotatable shaft of a stage, a flange extending radially around a top of the sleeve, and at least one swirling member extending axially downstream from a top of the flange towards a bottom of an impeller, wherein each of the at least one swirling member extends from an outer diameter towards an inner diameter of the flange.

Thrust bearing surface for floater-style centrifugal pumps

Enhanced abrasion resistance in well fluid wetted assemblies is described. The bearing set of the invention provides an enhanced abrasion resistance that is better capable of withstanding friction from solids in electric submersible pump (ESP) well production applications. The flutes, grooves, sectors and intersections of the invention provide improved fluid and solid flow through assembly components, which improves cooling while the assembly is in operation and reduces body wear, thereby increasing the lifespan of the ESP system.
