An X-ray system comprises an assembly that is moveable to different scan coordinates to acquire X-ray projection images at the different scan coordinates in a dynamic mode while the assembly is moving. The assembly is also moveable to a predetermined reference coordinate to acquire an X-ray projection image at the predetermined reference coordinate in a static mode while the assembly is resting. The X-ray system also comprises a processor configured to obtain dynamic gain calibration parameters from the X-ray projection images acquired in the dynamic mode at one of the different scan coordinates; obtain a static gain calibration parameter from the X-ray projection image acquired in the static mode at the predetermined reference coordinate; and determine adjusted dynamic gain calibration parameters.

Static gain calibration

The disclosure relates to an X-ray imaging system for acquiring two-dimensional or three-dimensional images of a subject. A relative position of an X-ray emitting region, as seen in a coordinate system which is stationary relative to an anti-scatter arrangement and/or an X-ray sensitive surface is controlled so that a first and a second image are acquired at different relative positions of the X-ray emitting region relative to the anti-scatter arrangement and/or the X-ray sensitive surface (). A data processing system of the imaging system generates an output image, based on each of the images. In the output image, artefacts generated by the anti-scatter arrangement, are reduced, suppressed or eliminated compared to the first and the second image.

Device, system and method for controlling a position of an anti-scatter grid in an X-ray image acquisition system

The present invention relates to a device for determining a volume of projection of a dual-axis computed tomography system with at least one shutter, the device () comprising: an interface unit (); a projection module (); and a position determination module (); wherein the interface unit () is configured to receive a volume of interest () for a computed tomography image showing an object (); wherein the projection module () is configured to determine a volume of projection () of a detector () based on different simulated positions of the detector () on a trajectory around the object () and based on a variable simulated position of at least one shutter (); and wherein the position determination module () is configured to determine the simulated position of the at least one shutter () for each determined simulated position of the detector () such that the volume of projection () corresponds to the volume of interest (). The present invention avoids that parts of an object of interest are unintentionally not imaged in dual-axis computed tomography imaging whilst reducing x-ray absorption to parts of the object outside the volume of interest () and provides improved insight in the volume of projection () of a dual-axis trajectory acquisition.

Device and method for determining a volume of projection of a dual-axis computed tomography system

An apparatus for medical imaging of a patient, including an object of interest, is provided. The apparatus comprises a patient support unit, a processor, and a display. The patient support unit is configured to receive a patient. The processor is configured to receive scout images of the patient acquired in respective positions of the apparatus. Each respective position is represented by a position parameter. The processor is further configured to select at least one iso-centering image from the scout images by geometrical calculation using the position parameter of each scout image and a position parameter representing a present position of the apparatus. The processor is further configured to adapt the appearance of the at least one iso-centering image according to the present position of the apparatus. The display is configured to present the at least one adapted iso-centering image.

An imaging system including a closed-loop controller (FC) for automatically adapting a power injector system (PJ). The power injector (PJ) injects contrast agent into an object (V) and the imager () acquires one or more images (AN, AN i) of the object (V) with the contrast agent resident therein. The controller (FC) calculates a desired optimal injection rate from the images (AN, AN). Controller (FC) then controls the injector (PJ) according to the calculated optimal injection rate.

X-ray controlled contrast agent injection

An X-ray image processing device for providing segmentation information with reduced X-ray dose that includes an interface unit, and a data processing unit. The interface unit is configured to provide a sequence of time series angiographic 2D images of a vascular structure obtained after a contrast agent injection. The data processing unit is configured to determine an arrival time index of a predetermined characteristic related to the contrast agent injection for each of a plurality of determined pixels along the time series, and to compute a connectivity index for each of the plurality of the determined pixels based on the arrival time index. The data processing unit is configured to generate and provide segmentation data of the vascular structure from the plurality of the determined pixels, wherein the segmentation data is based on the connectivity index of the pixels.
