An output device emits alarm indicating light and sound at predetermined levels when activated. The device enters a test mode in response to received test mode indicating control signals. When the device is in the test mode and a local test initiating control signal is received, audio and/or visual outputs are emitted at a level reduced from the alarm indicating output levels to test those outputs.

Audible/visible evacuation notification device

A water flow detector has a spring driven mechanical timer responsive to the movement of a lever. The lever is connected to a paddle. The paddle is responsive to the flow of water in a pipe. The detector via the spring driven timer responds to the flow of water in the pipe after a predetermined delay.

Time delay adjustment mechanism for sprinkler system water flow detector

A control unit can be in communication with a plurality of displaced duct sensors. Sensors can be placed in supply and return ducts of an HVAC-type fluid delivery system. The unit can communicate status information as well as sensor sensitivity or other parameter values, on a per sensor basis, to a remote accessory unit via a communication protocol. The units can communicate via a wired or wireless medium.

Intelligent duct smoke detector

A remote accessory unit can communicate via a data protocol with one or more displaced duct detector control units. The accessory unit can present status indicators visually, on a per sensor basis. Both audible and visible annunciators can be provided to indicate an alarm condition.
