The transmission housing () is made from plastic, with at least one repeatedly angled metal insert () being embedded in the plastic. At least one wall () of the metal insert () is aligned orthogonal in reference to the axis (A) of the spindle and at least partially encompasses the spindle () on the side of the transmission housing () allocated to the nut element ().

Adjustment mechanism for the longitudinal adjustment of a seat in a motor vehicle

A longitudinal adjustment mechanism is provided for a seat, with a spindle guide nut () that can move on a spindle (), which can be driven by a worm gear () with bearing sleeves () on both sides, as well as with a multi-part casing () that receives the worm gear () and the spindle (). The casing () consists of two casing sections () made of plastic, which can be inserted into one another in the axial direction (X) of the spindle (); each casing section () has a plate (), from which bars () jut out on one side and the casing sections () are permanently joined to one another. The mechanism provides a compact transmission for longitudinal seat adjustment mechanisms that is easy to assemble.
