A lighting fixture includes a first compartment including a light sealed air plenum and a first lighting source arranged in the plenum to irradiate passing air through the plenum to destroy pathogens. A second compartment is configured to be external to the first compartment. A second lighting source is arranged in the second compartment to illuminate an area adjacent to the second compartment.

Multi-functional lighting fixture

A junction box includes a bottom portion including a first end portion and a second end portion and a top portion configured to mate with the bottom portion. The top and bottom portions form a first opening to receive a first cable at the first end portion and form a second opening to receive a second cable at the second end portion. Interchangeable connection blocks are included for receiving wires of different gauges to make connections between the first cable and the second cable. A connection block receiving-feature is formed in the bottom portion to secure the connection blocks.

Power cable micro-junction-box for a strip light array

A balance circuit includes a reference circuit configured to generate current through strings of light emitting diodes (LEDs). The reference circuit includes a first string of LEDs in series coupled to a collector node of a first transistor. A base drive current resistor is connected between the collector node and a base node of the first transistor. A base emitter resistor is connected between the base node and an emitter of the first transistor such that a reference voltage is generated on the base node during operation. Another stage receives the reference voltage to generate a tracking current through a second transistor and a second string of LEDs connected to a base of the second transistor, wherein a current through the first string of LEDs is uniformly tracked by the tracking current through the second string of LEDs.

Dimming circuit with reference control

A balance circuit includes a node on which a reference voltage is generated to control current through a first component string and a first resistor connected to the first component string. A stage receives the reference voltage to generate a tracking current through a second component string and a second resistor connected to the second component string, wherein a current through the first component string is uniformly tracked by the tracking current through the second component string.

A passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor system includes a non-contact thermopile detector for capturing infrared energy from a focused upon area in a room or zone deemed most likely to be occupied and generating a thermopile temperature signal therefrom, a pyroelectric detector for viewing through multiple passive lens elements (lenslets) that form PIR beams from a large portion of the room or zone and generating a pyroelectric signal therefrom, an ambient temperature sensor for sensing an ambient temperature in the room or zone and generating an ambient temperature signal detection threshold that is utilized in PIR detection therefrom and a microcomputer configured to process the thermopile temperature signal, the pyroelectric signal and the ambient temperature signal and determine whether the room or zone is occupied or unoccupied. An electrical current supply or occupied signal is transmitted to the room or zone is maintained when the microcomputer determines that the room or zone is still occupied and is interrupted when the microcomputer determines that the room or zone is unoccupied.

Multi-mode passive infrared occupancy sensor system for energy saving application

This invention is suitable for directly driving from an alternating current (AC) line voltage source an array of LED lamps with a minimal amount of ancillary circuitry. Most of the required circuitry is situated within an integrated circuit, which includes a full wave rectifier, transient protection, a current control transistor, a feedback control loop, and overheating protection. The integrated circuit powers a transistor circuit structured as a constant current source to energize individual groupings of LEDs, as well as larger configurations of LEDs. The invention is useful for various lighting arrangements such as luminaires, bollards, strip lights, task lights, lighting tubes, and other types of applications that use a multitude of LEDs powered directly by AC line voltage without the requirement of a direct current power supply. This invention may further be used with an external phase switching dimmer apparatus.

A micro-motion occupancy sensor system monitors for a presence of a person in a room, in different monitoring modes, to regulate power delivery to the room. The micro-motion occupancy sensor has a multimode lens for receiving passive infrared (IR) energy and focusing the IR energy as a series of IR beams, a pyroelectric detector to receive the focused IR beams and generate an electrical signal, a processing circuit to amplify, filter and processes the electrical signal to generate an interrupt signal and an analog output signal and a controller that receives and processes the interrupt signal and the analog output signal to determine whether a person has entered a room or is maintaining their presence within the room. The controller controls the processing in a vacant mode where a person's presence is not detected and in an occupied mode when a person's presence has been detected.

Single technology micro-motion occupancy sensor system

A security device which is a hand held portable remote device such as a key fob that allows a user to interact with a security system using a single button. The security system functions such as arming, disarming, panic, garage door open, lamp on/off, and lamp dimming control will be displayed by the security device as control options and will be selected by a user using a forward, backward, left or right tilting motion and depressing the power on/select button. Once a control option has been selected, the security device will transmit the control option to the security system. The security device has a portable housing, a wireless communication port for interface with a security system, a display panel, an accelerometer device, and processing circuitry. The accelerometer device is used to determine the tilt of the security device and provide a control signal related to the tilt. The security device also has an infrared communication port for downloading control options, and single push button, for turning the security device on and for initiating the transmission of the output signal.

One button multifunction key fob for controlling a security system

A tamper detection mechanism in a sensor device comprising a body and a mounting base. The sensor device includes a substantially central resilient element/plunger attached to the mounting base. The body houses a printed circuit board includes a surface for mating to the resilient element to create a circuit. The mounting base may be removably affixed to a structure such as a wall or ceiling. When the mounting base is screwed into the structure and the body is coupled to the mounting base, the plunger is compressed and exerts a continuous pressure on the printed circuit board surface to complete the tamper circuit. If the sensor device is uncoupled and/or removed from the structure, the circuit is opened and a tamper indication signal is produced.

Tamper detection mechanism for blind installation of circular sensors

The present invention is a hand held portable remote such as a key fob that allows a user to interact with the security system using a flat panel touch-pad. The touch-pad input allows a user to rapidly select and control a large number of security functions, such as Arm, Disarm, Panic, garage door open, lamp on/off, and lamp dimming control, etc. The security device comprises a housing, a wireless communication port for interface with the security system, a touch-pad input device, and processing circuitry. In order to operate the security device, the user generates a user input by creating a contact motion on the touch-pad input device with a fingertip. The contact motion may consist of a swiping motion, a tapping, or a circular motion. In order to distinguish the contact motion clearly, when the fingertip contact comprises a wider than normal contact, it causes the processing circuitry to not generate an output signal. The security device also comprises an LCD display for displaying alpha numeric control options to a user and LED indicators for indicating the modes of the processing circuitry.

Touchscreen device for controlling a security system

The present invention relates to a system and method for the wireless light sensor input to a security system, wherein the light sensed by the light sensor is used to determine the activation and deactivation state of the security system. The system and method determine a light level threshold value and obtaining a light level value. Further, the obtained light level value is compared to a light level threshold value in order to determine if the present light level value is greater than or less than the light level threshold value, and finally, a signal is transmitted to a remote device in response to the comparison of the light level value.

The present invention relates to a system and method for the deactivation of an alarm system situated within a home or business environment by the use of a sound-activated wireless key device. This present invention describes a wireless key that 'hears' a pulsing, warning tone, identifies the tone and automatically sends out a signal to disarm the alarm system thus allowing for the automatic hands-free deactivation of the alarm system. The invention comprises 'listening' circuitry that is able to identify the sound of the audio warning, even when the invention is located within clothing or a handbag.
