A cut, slash and/or abrasion resistant shaped knit garment having both high cut resistance and preferably light fabric weight, a cut resistance of at least 1500 (as measured by ASTM-F1790-2005) and preferably a fabric weight of no more than 27.9 ounces/square yard (OPSY).

A cut, slash and/or abrasion resistant fabric is provided having both high cut resistance and light fabric weight, preferably a cut resistance of at least 500 (as measured by ASTM-F1790-04) and a fabric weight of no more than 27.9 ounces/square yard (OPSY), which can be prepared, if desired, by shaped knitting into a shaped fabric panel, which is used to prepare cut, slash and/or abrasion resistant garments or coverings.

The present invention relates to a cut and/or abrasion resistant garment that is lightweight, has improved comfort, flexibility and pliability, and is particularly suitable for use as hosiery products such as stockings, pantyhose and tights, or for protective coverings for the arms of the wearer.

Lightweight, cut and/or abrasion resistant garments, and related protective wear

A modular protective garment includes first and second protective components. The first protective component is configured to protect a portion of a body of a wearer of the garment. The first protective component includes a fabric made from a composite material, the fabric permitting air and water vapor to flow therethrough and being light-weight. The second protective component is also configured to protect a portion of the body of the wearer. A connector releasably attaches the first and second components.

Modular cut and abrasion resistant protective garment and protective garment system

A combined yarn is provided containing a metallic strand and a non-metallic strand, wherein the metallic and non-metallic strands are combined by air interlacing the filaments or fibers of the non-metallic strand at intermittent points along their length, so that the metallic strand is encased in the non-metallic strand at least at some of the intermittent points; a composite yarn incorporating the combined yarn as at least one component, and articles and/or garments made from the combined yarn or composite yarn, and methods for the production of the combined and composite yarns.
