Handle is provided for battery operated razors. In some implementations, the handle includes a simple, efficient mechanism for both securing a battery cover to the handle of a razor and at the same time providing a high reliability electrical contact between the battery and electronics of the razor. The mechanism includes a closing system, including a first conductive component slidably attached within the battery cover and biased toward a predetermined axial position, and a second conductive component secured to the interior wall of the grip portion. The first conductive component is configured to interact with the second conductive component and move axially within the battery cover during engagement of the battery cover with the grip portion.

The light guide has a top surface for displaying an illuminated symbol and a bottom surface with a light receiving member having a refracting surface with a first lens member for receiving and directing light to the top surface of the light guide. A resilient sealing member is mounted on the locking ring and interconnects the locking ring and the light guide. The sealing member has an unsupported portion that facilitates movement of the light guide relative to the locking ring.

Razor handles are provided for razors having a battery-powered functionality. Methods of manufacturing such handles are also provided. In one implementation, the handle comprises: a load comprising a motor coupled to a power source; a user-operable switch for controlling energy flow between the power source and the load; a control logic; an arming circuit to prevent the user-operable switch from causing drainage of the power source; and a locking circuit that receives a switch signal from the user-operable switch and an arming signal from the arming circuit, wherein the locking circuit outputs a motor control signal to the control logic in response to the states of the switch signal and the arming signal, wherein the arming circuit comprises a timer for changing the state following lapse of a time interval and an arming switch having a first state and a second state.

Battery operated appliances are provided. Some appliances include a housing defining a chamber having an interior wall, electronics within the chamber, a battery cover, and a closing system including (a) a first electrically conductive member secured to the battery cover, and (b) a second electrically conductive member secured to the interior wall of the housing and configured to engage the first electrically conductive member and thereby mechanically secure the battery cover to the housing while also establishing electrical contact between the first and second electrically conductive members.

Razor handles are provided, for razors having a battery-powered functionality. The razor handles include a housing constructed to hold a battery, and, within the housing, a carrier including a pair of battery clamp fingers configured to exert a clamping force against the battery when the battery is in place in the housing.

The invention is directed to a method and a device for determining the blood pressure, in which a pressure sensor is applied to an individual's limb to detect the blood pressure prevailing in said limb. According to the present invention, the orientation of the limb is detected by means of an orientation sensing unit, and the detected blood pressure is corrected in an evaluating unit in response to the limb's detected orientation.
