A method of measuring rinse properties of a composition from a surface. The method includes providing a treatment composition comprising a UV fluorescent dye. The method also includes taking a first image of a surface. The method also includes applying the treatment composition to the surface after taking the first image. The method also includes taking a second image of the surface after applying the treatment composition to the surface. The method also includes rinsing the surface with water after taking the second image. The method also includes taking a third image of the surface after rinsing the surface. The method also includes analysing the first image, the second image, and the third image to quantify an amount of the treatment composition remaining on the surface after rinsing the surface.

Method for determining rinse properties

A method of measuring a wet friction of a bundle of hair, using a system which includes a friction probe having a contact surface and fitted with a weight in the range of from 10 g to 500 g, inclusive, a means for securing the bundle of hair, and a water bath, the friction probe being connected to a texture analyser, the method including the step of i) providing a bundle of hair fibres. The method also includes the steps of ii) aligning the bundle of hair fibres; iii) securing the bundle of hair fibres; iv) immersing the bundle of hair fibres under water in the water bath; v) contacting the bundle of hair fibres with the contact surface of the friction probe, which is fitted with the weight; vi) moving the probe along the hair fibres; and vii) recording the friction generated under step vi).

Method for measuring wet friction of hair

A method of measuring changes in hair movement characteristics, predictive of consumer response includes: i) providing an apparatus for measuring hair movement characteristics of hair; ii) measuring the hair movement characteristics using the apparatus to obtain a first hair movement characteristic; iii) applying a treatment to the hair or an assault to the hair; iv) measuring the hair movement characteristics using the apparatus after step iii) to obtain a second hair movement characteristic; v) comparing the first hair movement characteristic and the second hair movement characteristic; and vi) assessing a change in movement occurring as a result of the application of the treatment or the assault.

Method for measuring hair movement characteristics

A system for the measurement of wet friction of a bundle of hair fibres includes a friction probe, a means for securing a bundle of hair fibres, and a water bath. The friction probe includes a contact surface. The friction probe is fitted with a weight in the range of from 10 g to 500 g, inclusive. The friction probe is connected to a texture analyser. The means and the friction probe are positioned in the water bath below a fill line. The contact surface of the friction probe comprises surfactant.

Apparatus and method for measuring wet friction of hair

The invention provides a hair treatment composition comprising a combination of a sugar, an aliphatic amino acid and a basic amino acid. The composition is particularly suitable for the treatment of hair which is dry, damaged and/or prone to manageability problems.
