A method and a system for measuring carrier-to-envelope phase fluctuations (CEP) fluctuations of a laser field, the method comprising focusing laser pulses in a solid-state material for high harmonic generation, collecting a resulting high harmonic spectrum, and inferring a relative phase of the driving field from the high harmonic spectrum. The system comprises a source of CEP stable mid-infrared laser pulses; a CEP variation unit; a solid state medium; a detector; and first focusing optics focusing pulses generated by the source into the solid state medium and second focusing optics collecting resulting harmonics generated in the solid state medium into the detector.

Method and system for measuring carrier-to-envelope phase fluctuations of a femtosecond laser pulse

A method and a system for imaging a dynamic scene, by time-spectrum mapping when a single chirped pulse probes the dynamic scene, storing temporal information at different wavelengths, spectral shearing, spatial encoding and reverse spectral shearing; spatiotemporal integration; and image reconstruction from a resulting captured snapshot, using a laser source configured to emit a linearly chirped laser probe pulse; an imaging unit; a shearing and reversing shearing unit; an encoder; a detector; and a computer; wherein the imaging unit is configured to record the linearly chirped laser probe pulse transmitted by the dynamic scene in a snapshot; the shearing and reversing shearing unit is configured to spectrally shears the linearly chirped laser pulses received from the imaging unit to the encoder, the detector records a compressed snapshot of a temporal information of the dynamic scene read out by the probe pulse; and the computer processes the snapshot and yields a(x,y,t) datacube of the dynamic scene.

Method and system of swept coded aperture real-time femtophotography

A method and a system, the system, comprising a laser source, a ionization and acceleration unit, a separation unit, and a collecting unit, wherein the laser source comprises a large bandwidth laser delivering successive pulses of fixed central wavelength and bandwidth to a surface of a target positioned inside the ionization and acceleration unit, surface atoms of the target being ionized by the pulses, accelerated from the surface of the target to a kinetic energy in the range between 100 eV and 10 KeV, and focused to the separation unit, the separation unit separating received atoms into different ions species, and the collecting unit separately collecting the different ion species. The method comprises positioning a target inside a resistive tube, delivering successive pulses of same selected wavelength and bandwidth from a large bandwidth laser generating a beam of fixed central wavelength and bandwidth to a surface of the target to ionize atoms of the surface of the target, accelerate the ionized atoms to a kinetic energy in a range between 100 eV and 10 KeV, under an electric field in a resistive tube, directing the ionized atoms to a magnetic separator, and collecting ions species of the target separately in cup collectors.

Optical system and method for metallurgical extraction and refining

A method comprising forming a linear temporal non-stationary amplitude filter by interacting a high intensity ultrashort laser pump pulse with a photo-excitable material, focusing an ultrashort broadband laser probe pulse over the photo-excited material, acquiring a two-dimensional spectrogram and retrieving amplitudes and phases of both temporal probe pulse and linear non-stationary amplitude filter from the two-dimensional spectrogram.

A humidity sensing method and system comprising a transmitter, comprising a fiber optic head and a light source comprising a single LED emitting a measuring light, a receiver, and a sensing assembly comprising a plurality of optical fibers each comprising a first end fed the measuring light, a transducer positioned along a length thereof, the transducer comprising a side-polished portion of the optical fiber, the side polished portion coated with a gold layer and a film of a hydrophilic material wherein the transducer modifies an intensity of the measuring light dependent on an ambient humidity, and a second end for feeding the modified measuring light to the receiver, wherein the receiver compares an intensity of the measuring light with an intensity of the modified measuring light deriving therefrom a corresponding humidity level and dew point temperature.
