The invention relates to a component having at least to some extent a layer structure, wherein the layer structure includes an elastomer layer with a density greater than 800 g/L, and a thermoset layer including at least 50% by weight of a first polyurethane. The invention further relates to a process for the production of a component of this type, the process including (i) provision of a female mold into which the individual layers of the layer structure are introduced, or of a male mold to which the individual layers of the layer structure are applied; (ii) production of the elastomer layer via spraying; (iii) production of the thermoset layer via spraying; and (iv) demolding of the resultant component. Step (ii) can be carried out before step (iii) or step (iii) can be carried out before step (ii).

Component composed at least to some extent of a layer structure and process for production thereof

In a process for the production of pore-free polyurethane elastomer moldings with Shore D hardness of at least 60 in accordance with DIN 53505, (a) polyesterdiol with OH number from 20 to 100 mg KOH/g and (b) a chain extender composed of diol with molar mass below 300 g/mol, is mixed with (c) isocyanate prepolymers obtainable via reaction of diisocyanate with polyesterols with functionality from 1.95 to 2.2 and with OH number from 20 to 200 mg KOH/g to form a reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is charged to a mold and hardened to form the polyurethane elastomer. Polyurethane elastomer moldings are thus obtainable by this process, and these polyurethane moldings may be used as cladding component for commercial vehicles, bodywork component in vehicle construction, or a cladding component of a machine installation.

Compact elastomer molded parts on the basis of polyurethane

The present invention relates to a process for production of artificial leather comprising top coat, polyurethane layer and optional substrate layer, said process comprising i) providing a release layer, ii) applying one or more than one layer of a top coat to the release layer to an overall top coat layer thickness in the range from 1 to 500 &#x3bc;m, iii) applying first polyurethane system components comprising an isocyanate component (A) and a polyol component (B) to the top coat to form a first polyurethane layer, wherein the isocyanate index of the first polyurethane system components is in the range from 101 to 140, iv) optionally applying further polyurethane system components to the first polyurethane layer to form further polyurethane layers, v) optionally applying a substrate layer to the polyurethane system components, vi) curing the polyurethane system components to form a polyurethane layer, and vii) separating the release layer from the top coat, wherein the overall thickness of the first and optionally further polyurethane layers is in the range from 0.01 to 20 mm and the polyurethane system components are solvent-free. The present invention further relates to an artificial leather obtainable by such a process and to the use of the artificial leather as upper materials for footwear.

The present invention also relates to components in the fitting-out or aircraft, of vehicles, or of buildings, and to insulation comprising this type of composite element.

The present invention relates to a process for repairing top layers for roads, tracks, and other areas used by traffic, by applying an amount of at least 20 g/mof a polymeric material to the damaged site, applying an amount of at least 80 g/mof a first polyurethane reaction mixture (which can comprise additives) to the polymeric material, and applying, to the first polyurethane reaction mixture, a mixture comprising mineral aggregate and a second polyurethane reaction mixture, and allowing the material to harden. An elastomeric composition includes a reaction product of an isocyanate component and a resin component comprising a polyol and a polyetheramine in the presence of a first catalyst comprising a metal and a second catalyst comprising an amine. An elastomeric system and a method of making an elastomer are provided. The method includes providing the isocyanate component and the resin component, combining the resin component and the isocyanate component in the presence of the first and second catalysts to form an elastomeric composition, applying the elastomeric composition to a mold having a mold cavity, curing the elastomeric composition to form the elastomer, and demolding the elastomer from the mold cavity. An article including a first layer formed from the elastomeric composition emits less than 100 &#x3bc;g/g of volatile organic compounds over 0.5 hour at 90&#xb0; C.
