A background field magnet for image transmitting devices of nuclear spin tomography is designed for the generation of a magnetic background field of predetermined first field strength and contains on a tubular coil support, and six super-conductive single coils which are arranged in pairs symmetrically with respect to a plane of symmetry at predetermined median distances from the plane. The coil support is also suitable for the generation of a second field strength which is smaller than the first field. According to the invention, it is provided that on the coil support (25) the coils (11, 12, 14) are applied with the same median distances (z.sub.1, z.sub.2. z.sub.4) with respect to the plane of symmetry (S), however, with reduced winding numbers N.sub.1 ', N.sub.2 ', N.sub.2 '), that additionally a pair (P3) of serially switched auxiliary coils (13) is provided which each is placed in the vicinity of the outer single coils (14) on the coil former (25) and that with given reduced winding number (N.sub.4 ') of the outer single coils ( 14) under consideration of their original outer radius (R.sub.4) and a change of the conductor cross section (from q.sub.4 to q.sub.4 ') as well as with the median distance (z.sub.3) and the center radius (R.sub.3) of the auxiliary coils (13) given, the further winding numbers (N.sub.1 ', N.sub.2 ', N.sub.3 ') of the corresponding coils (11 to 13) by using the winding number (N.sub.1, N.sub.2, N.sub.4) resulting for the first field strength have to be determined according to given mathematical relations. ,

Background field magnet for image generating devices using nuclear spin

In the exemplary embodiments, a multiple electrode for interference current therapy includes individual contact parts for emplacement on the patient at the location of application, and from which connection lines lead to the operational apparatus, or the like. In order to guarantee as simple as possible an application of the electrode system, an extended area-flexible formed part of electrically insulating plastic has flexible, electrically conductive plastic parts, as electrode contact parts, embedded in a smooth fashion. A good adaptation of the electrode system to different contours of the application location on the patient's body thus results.

Electrode system

In an exemplary embodiment, for application of a multiple electrode for interference current therapy, the electrode system comprises a flexible formed part of electrically insulating plastic and individual electrode contact parts. The object of the disclosure is to simplify the application of an electrode system on the patient's body as far as possible. In accordance with the disclosure, the carrier for the contacting agent is a fleece material part whose external contour is slightly greater than the exterior perimeter of the formed part of the electrode system, the fleece material part having a covering of insulating material on its side not facing the application surface such that the electrode system is insertable between the fleece material part and the covering. The carrier for the contact agent thus likewise forms a flexible pocket for the electrode system.
