An electrically powered coolant pump particularly suited for an internal combustion engine has a pump housing having an elongate shape which encloses a pump wheel on the inlet side and subsequently downstream therefrom encloses an electric motor. An annular flow passage for the coolant is formed between the pump housing and the outside of the electric motor. The electric motor is encapsulated against the coolant, and the structural component of electric motor and pump wheel is retained in the axial range of the electric motor with at least one web in the pump housing through which connections for driving the electric motor are routed. The electric motor is cooled by the coolant flowing by, and may therefore be operated at very high rotational speeds, so that a small structural size and a low weight may be realized. Widely varying installation locations for the coolant pump are therefore possible.

Electrically powered coolant pump

A radial-piston pump has at least one delivery unit with a delivery element. A pump casing is provided which has a first accommodation space for a medium to be delivered and a second accommodation space for a lubricant, the pump casing further has an eccentric side and a casing side. A separating device separates the first accommodation space and the second accommodation space from one another. The separating device has a first sealing element disposed fluid-tightly on the casing side of the pump casing and a second sealing element disposed on the eccentric side and connected fluid-tightly with the first sealing element. A shaft bearing configuration is disposed in the pump casing and supports an input shaft having an end portion. An eccentric element is disposed on the end portion of the input shaft. The second sealing element is disposed so as to be capable of sliding in a circumferential direction of the eccentric element. In this manner, a rotary motion of the input shaft is converted by the eccentric element into a radial motion of the delivery element of the delivery unit.

Radial piston pump

A control for a pressure fluid supply system is described, in particular for the high pressure in a fuel injection system, for example for an internal combustion Diesel engine, by means of which the pressure in a common high-pressure line supplied by a high-pressure pump, i.e. in the common rail, to which individual consumers are connected, is controlled in accordance with the instantaneous pressure fluid requirements. For adapting the pressure in the common high-pressure line to the pressure fluid requirements of the consumers, i.e. the injection nozzles, a device for limiting the amounts of fluids conveyed is associated with the high-pressure pump, which has at least on adjusting element which can be changed by means of an adjusting signal representing the instantaneous pressure fluid supply situation in the common rail. To avoid an elaborate pressure sensor device in the common rail and for the simultaneous improvement of the reaction behavior of the control, in particular when reducing the high pressure in the common rail, the adjusting signal is derived from the amount of fluid throughput in the delivery line of a pressure control valve connected to the common rail. The pre-conveying pressure or the pre-conveying amount available to the high-pressure pump is affected by means of this adjusting signal in the sense of a regulation of the pressure in the common rail.

Control for a fluid pressure supply system, particularly for high pressure in a fuel injection system

A device presenting a high-pressure pump, and a low-pressure pump connected pstream from the first. To prevent damage in the event of a fault on the device, the connection between the low- and high-pressure pumps is provided with a cutoff valve which is closed in the event of a fault on the low-pressure pump to prevent the intake of solid particles by the high-pressure pump. Also, in the event of a fault on one of the injectors, detected on the basis of the operating conditions of the engine, the low-pressure pump is disconnected to prevent seriously damaging the engine.

Pump device for supplying fuel from a tank to an internal combustion

A pump comprising a number of radial cylinders arranged a given angular distance apart about a drive shaft and each housing including a piston resting radially on a respective pad by virtue of the action of a return spring. The connection between the piston and pad comprises a retainer for preventing in-service detachment of the pad, which rests on a respective flat portion of a cam mounted for rotation on an eccentric portion of the shaft. The force on the pad produced by sliding friction between the pad and the flat portion of the cam and directed perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder is absorbed by the piston.

Radial-piston pump

A pump having a number of radial cylinders each housing a sliding piston. Each cylinder is closed by a respective head, and comprises an intake valve and a delivery valve having respective seats inside a plate. The intake valve is located at the end of an intake channel having a first portion through the plate, a second portion formed between the head and the plate and perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder, and a third portion parallel to the cylinder axis. The delivery valve presents a truncated-cone-shaped seal communicating with the pumping chamber via a conduit also extending through the plate; and the two plungers are made of ceramic and guided by a respective retainer.

A pumping apparatus is disclosed comprising a tank containing a fluid to be umped, a main pumping stage for pumping a controlled amount of said fluid at a predetermined pressure, a supply pump for supplying fluid from said tank to said main pumping stage in excess to said controlled amount, and feedback means for feeding the excess fluid back to said tank along a given drain path; wherein the improvement includes at least part of said drain path running in regions of said main pumping stage subjected to severe thermal and/or mechanical stress.

An engine brake for a multicylinder internal combustion engine includes valves that can be periodically opened briefly, in each case outside the exhaust stroke. In the vicinity of the applicable valve drive, a hydraulic piston is provided that is triggered synchronously with the engine rpm via an associated control line by a hydraulic pressure distributor fed by a pump. To improve the accuracy of control over the entire engine rpm range, the various valves are assigned a central positive displacement pump that runs synchronously with the camshaft rpm and whose outlet line leads to the hydraulic pressure distributor, which has a distributor disk. In engine braking operation, an alternating connection of the applicable control line to either the pump outlet line or a low-pressure region of the hydraulic control circuit is effected synchronously with the engine rpm by means of the distributor disk.
