An expansion anchor including a sleeve-shaped anchor body (1, 21, 31, 41) having a through-bore (6, 26, 36, 46), an expansion region (4, 24, 34, 44) with longitudinal slots (5, 25, 35, 45) and a rear section (2, 22, 32, 42) provided with a load application element (3, 23, 33, 43), and an expansion member (7, 27, 37, 47) located in the through-bore (6, 26, 36, 46) and axially displaceable in the through-bore (6, 26, 36, 46) for radially expanding the expansion region (4, 24, 34, 44), with the expansion member (7, 27, 37, 47) being formed as a sheet metal stamped part having, at least regionwise, a dimension exceeding a dimension of a portion of the through-bore (6, 26, 36, 46) associated with the expansion region (4, 24, 34, 44).

Expansion anchor

An expansion dowel (1) includes an axially extending cylindrical sleeve (2) and an expanding body (3). The sleeve (2) has an axially extending bore (5) and an axially extending expansion section (6) with axially extending slits. The bore (5) tapers inwardly to the leading end of the sleeve in the expansion section (6). The expanding body (3) is received in and expands the expansion section (6). Circumferentially and axially extending approximately V-shaped grooves 9 are formed in the outside surface of the expansion section and/are spaced apart by circumferentially and axially extending cylindrical surface sections (8). The approximately v-shaped grooves have flanks defining an angle (.alpha.) in the range of approximately 120.degree. to 140.degree..

Expansion dowel

An expansion dowel (1) is formed of an axially extending dowel member (2) having a leading end and a trailing end. The trailing end has an outwardly projecting collar (9) with an expansion region extending axially from the trailing end toward the leading end with at least one axially extending slot (7) or breakout groove therein. The dowel member (2) has a central throughbore (3) arranged to receive an expanding element (8). Throughbore (3) has an inside thread (15) in its leading end region. The expanding element (8) is an axially extending sleeve insertable into the trailing end of the throughbore (3) for expanding the expansion region (6).

A tool for anchoring expansion dowels has a handle (1) with two receiving mounts (2, 10) into which a setting drift (8, 13) can be fixed. Each receiving mount (2, 10) has an axis corresponding to the axis of the setting drift (8, 13). The axes of the receiving mounts (2, 10) are disposed at an angle of 90.degree. relative to one another. Flexural elements exert a prestress on the fixed setting drift (8, 13).

Tool for manually anchoring expansion dowels

An expansion dowel assembly for use in undercut bores in a receiving material includes an axially extending anchor bolt with a load application section at a trailing end region of the bolt and an expansion cone at a leading end region thereof. An expansion sleeve followed by a guide sleeve are arranged between the leading end region and the trailing end region of the anchor bolt. A component to be secured for a surface of the receiving material is centered by the guide sleeve and any lateral loads generated by the component are absorbed by the guide sleeve. The guide sleeve fits around a trailing end region of the anchor bolt and has an annular flange at its trailing end extending laterally outwardly from the guide sleeve and arranged to bear against a surface of the component.
