A contact arrangement for a connector includes a plurality of contact elements each extending from a first connection side to a second connection side. A plurality of first end sections of a first subset of the contact elements contact a plurality of external elements in a first plane at the first connection side and a plurality of first end sections of a second subset of the contact elements contact a plurality of external elements in a second plane at the first connection side. The second plane is parallel to and spaced from the first plane in a height direction. A plurality of intermediate sections of at least some of the contact elements lie in a single common plane.

A housing for an electrical connector includes a housing body having an opening receiving a cable in an insertion direction and a pair of cable covers hinged to the housing body at a proximal end of each cable cover of the pair of cable covers. The pair of cable covers extend away from the opening. Each of the cable covers is pivoted away from the other cable cover in a cable mounting position and each cable cover is pivoted toward the other cable cover to form a cable support sleeve supporting the cable in an operating position.

A plug insert comprises a plug insert body including at least one contact member accessible from outside the plug insert, at least one insulation displacement contact electrically connected to the contact member, and a guiding assembly. At least one wire manager module includes at least one cable receptacle for receiving and holding a cable or wire. The guiding assembly guides the wire manager module relative to the plug insert body from a pre-assembly position, to an assembly position in which the insulation displacement contact extends into the cable receptacle.

A cable terminating assembly for terminating a cable having a wire includes a wire manager having an end face facing in an insertion direction and a connector housing with a reception opening receiving at least a part of the wire manager. The end face holds the wire in a predetermined position along the insertion direction. The connector housing has a cutting blade formed by an electrically insulating material. The cutting blade cuts the wire upon insertion of the wire manager into the connector housing.

A connector includes a connector housing having a coupling side for coupling with a complementary connector along a connection direction and a lever assembly including a lever for coupling with the complementary connector. The lever is pivotable around an axis of rotation on the connector housing. The axis of rotation extends essentially perpendicular to the connection direction. The lever extends in at least one position in the connection direction away from the axis of rotation toward the coupling side. The lever assembly has an extension that is movable relative to the lever and that extends the lever assembly in an extended state away from the axis of rotation.

A terminal unit with a housing and a cover is described, a cable receiving opening for a terminal module being provided in the cover. Contact members are arranged in the housing and held pivotably on the housing. The contact members have contacts which make electric contact with an electrical lead when the contact member is swivelled from an open position into a contact position. The contact members have seating surfaces which form a receiving chamber for a printed circuit board. The printed circuit board is part of the terminal module which can be slid into the aperture in the cover, conductors of the board making electric contact with the contacts of the contact members.

A shielded connection arrangement is provided for electrically connecting at least one multiple-conductor shielded electrical wire to a circuit carrier or the like, in particular for connecting an Ethernet line to an electrical device. The connection arrangement includes an electrically insulating housinghaving a securable coverand, located therein, insulation displacement contactsfor making contact with wire conductorsof the at least one electrical wire.
