A coaxial connector and a coaxial cable forming a cable assembly. The coaxial connector includes a cable entry side for entry of the coaxial cable and an opposite coupling side for coupling with the coaxial counter connector along the connector axis. The coaxial connector includes an inner contact element electrically connected with an inner conductor of the coaxial cable; an outer contact element electrically connected with an outer conductor of the coaxial cable; a dielectric connector element radially arranged between the inner contact element and the outer contact element; a connector housing arranged around the outer contact element; wherein the inner contact element is axially locked against the dielectric connector element and the dielectric connector element is axially locked against the connector housing such that the coaxial cable is strain relieved in an axial direction with respect to the connector housing.

The invention relates to a method for producing a stranded inner conductor (), and to a coaxial cable (). In a first step, a stranded inner conductor () is provided, which consists of several wires () twisted together. Then the stranded inner conductor () is rotary swaged by means of a rotary swaging device (). In a further step, the rotary swaged stranded inner conductor () is enclosed with a dielectric (). In a further step, the dielectric () is enclosed with an outer conductor () and a cable sheath ().

Method for producing a coaxial cable

A method for producing an operative connection between a coaxial cable () and a coaxial connector (). A cable jacket (), if present, is removed by means of a first tool () to a predefined first length L. In a second step, an outer conductor () is removed by means of a second tool () to a predefined second length L. In a third step, a dielectric () is removed by means of a third tool () to a third length L, such that one end () of the inner conductor () is exposed. Then the end () of the inner cable conductor () is formed by means of a rotary swaging device (), which comprises a plurality of deflectable jaws () rotatable circumferentially about an axis of rotation () and each hammering in the radial direction with at least one operative surface ().

Method and device for producing an operative connection between a connector and a cable

A connector includes a housing, which extends along a longitudinal axis lying in the plug-in direction and which is divided into an electric connector part and a locking device located next to the electric connector part for the releasable locking of the connector with a corresponding counterpart. The locking device includes a detent bracket that is held in a receiving chamber of the housing, that extends in the plug-in direction, and can be elastically deflected perpendicularly to the plug-in direction. The detent bracket is elastically deflected perpendicularly to the plug-in direction by an actuating element mounted on the housing in order to be disengaged. A compact construction is achieved because the actuating element lies adjacent to the detent bracket perpendicularly to the plug-in direction and the length of the actuating element in the plug-in direction is less than or approximately equal to the length of the detent bracket.
