An energy storage unit for a motor vehicle has a support frame which can be non-destructively detachably mounted on a body of the motor vehicle and a plurality of storage modules for storing electrical energy which can be mounted on the support frame. The storage modules are configured as intrinsically sealed units which can be arranged on the support frame from bottom to top in the vertical direction of the vehicle and can be inserted into respective corresponding receiving openings in the support frame.

A vehicle includes a pedestrian protection device having a car hood that can be opened on at least one edge facing the windscreen when a collision of a person against the vehicle is recognized. A motor vehicle having a floor system which has an enlarged thickness in the area of the passenger compartment, the floor system being reinforced for improving the occupant protection. In order to reduce the danger of excessive deformations of the vehicle occupant compartment in the event of a side impact of a passenger car onto the motor vehicle, the floor system has a deflecting slope on its underside, which deflecting slope, starting from the side of the floor system, extends diagonally downward toward the longitudinal center plane of the vehicle.
