Apparatus for the longitudinal adjustment

A safety ski binding includes a binding member guided in the longitudinal direction of a ski on a guide rail and releasably fixable in different positions therealong by an adjusting arrangement, the binding member being under the influence of at least one pressing spring which acts in the longitudinal direction of the ski and which facilitates compensation for play existing between the binding member and the guide rail. The pressing spring is arranged in a spring cage which has a crosswall and a bottom. To provide a constant pressure, the spring cage is provided with at least two downwardly convex leaf springs, or with at least two longitudinal ribs which extend along the two sides of the bottom and are downwardly convex and resilient in a section of their longitudinal length.

A heel holder including a base plate on which is arranged a bearing block which can be pivoted laterally. A swivel head is supported in the bearing block on a transverse axle. Between the base plate and the bearing block there is provided a return spring. A locking mechanism is provided in addition, which locking mechanism holds the bearing block in its centered position. In order to hold the bearing block in the heel holder with pressure, the invention provides that the base plate carries a rectangular projection on its upper side, with which projection is associated a recess in the base of the bearing block, and that above the projection there is arranged the locking mechanism which acts through a frictional connection.

The present invention relates to a heel-holder for a safety ski binding, the heel-holder comprising a snap-in device and a sole-holder vertically pivotable about a cross-pin disposed in a housing. The housing is horizontally pivotable about a raised pin formed on a base plate which is mounted on a ski. The snap-in device is loaded by a spring. The snap-in device includes a snap-in rocker pivotably mounted on the housing and a control member pivotably mounted on the snap-in rocker. The snap-in rocker engages a control cam formed on the sole-holder, and the control member engages an extension of the base plate. The spring loads the snap-in device and applies a force for releasing the binding. The snap-in device reduces the spring force required for releasing the binding during both the vertical pivoting of the sole-holder and the horizontal pivoting of the housing. According to further embodiments, the base plate extension may be fixed to a pivot plate which is supported on the base plate and which is horizontally pivotable with respect to the ski.

A ski binding includes a base plate adapted to be secured to a ski, a cover plate supported on the base plate for pivotal movement about a vertical axis, and an adjustable release arrangement for yieldably resisting pivotal movement of the cover plate in either direction away from an initial position. The release arrangement can be adjusted from a side of the binding. Front and rear holding mechanisms are provided on the cover plate and releasaly hold a ski shoe on the cover plate, the front holding mechanism including a pivotally supported holding jaw which is controlled by the adjustable release arrangement, and the rear holding mechanism being adapted to release only in response to an upward force component.

A device for effecting longitudinal adjustment of ski binding parts includes a guide rail which is adapted to be mounted on a ski and has a longitudinally extending serrated edge, a guide plate slidably supported on the guide rail for longitudinal movement, a locking member having teeth thereon and supported on the guide plate for movement between first and second positions in which the teeth respectively engage and are free of engagement with the serrated edge, a resilient arrangement which yieldably urges the locking member toward its first position, and an arrangement cooperable with the locking member for releasably holding it in its second position.

Device for facilitating longitudinal adjustment of ski binding parts

A safety ski binding having a plate which is rotatably supported for movement about a ski fixed vertical axle. The plate has a front and a rear clamping device for a ski shoe thereon. The rear clamping device, namely, a releasing heel holder, is provided with a pair of sole down-holding members. At least one of the two, preferably both, sole down-holding members are pivotally supported for movement in transverse directions of the ski by bearings on a stepping plate hingedly supported on the heel holder. A releasable locking device is provided for fixing the sole down-holding members in their position holding the shoe in the skiing position. The releasable locking device is releasable against the force of at least one spring and is engaged by a control part.

A release ski binding comprising a sole plate having thereon a rear jaw for a ski shoe, a central part thereof being pivotal relative to the ski about a vertically upright axis and about a transversely extending axis. The sole plate is held in a skiing position by an elastic holding mechanism on the ski. The holding mechanism is responsive to a swivel movement occurring between the sole plate and the ski and upon reaching of a predetermined angle of traverse effects an opening of a release lock on the rear jaw. The sole plate consists of two parts, of which the one part is pivotally supported for movement about a vertical axis of a sleeve and the other part is hingedly connected to the first part through the transverse axis.

A heel holder includes a base plate, a bearing block supported on the base plate, a binding housing pivotally supported on the bearing block, and a down-holding arrangement supported on the binding housing. A locking mechanism can releasably lock the binding housing in a downhill skiing position. A stepping spur is pivotally supported on the binding housing, and a locking member is pivotally supported on the stepping spur and can move to a locking position in which it engages the binding housing and holds the stepping spur in a stepping-in position. An upwardly projecting wall on the base plate engages the locking member as the binding housing moves into its downhill skiing position and pivots the locking member to an ineffective position in which the stepping spur can pivot away from its stepping-in position.
