The invention relates to a power unit, in particular for a hybrid vehicle, comprising a reciprocating piston engine and comprising a generator which can be in driving engagement therewith, wherein the reciprocating piston engine has at least two pistons, which are guided in at least two cylinders in tandem arrangement, and two counter-rotating crankshafts, which are connected to the pistons by connecting rods and which are mechanically coupled so as to be in phase, wherein a first generator can be driven by the first crankshaft and a second generator can be driven by the second crankshaft.

Power unit

The invention relates to a multi-track passenger motor vehicle, in particular a hybrid vehicle, comprising a generating set, which has at least one generator that can be driven by a reciprocating piston engine, a battery and at least one electric motor. The reciprocating piston engine, the generator and the electric motor, which can be mechanically coupled to at least one driving wheel of the vehicle, are connected in series in order to drive the vehicle. The generating set, consisting of the reciprocating piston engine and the generator, has a depth extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and a width extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the width being a maximum 750 mm, especially a maximum 700 mm, in particular a maximum 660 mm, in particular a maximum 640 mm, and the depth being a maximum 310 mm, especially a maximum 280 mm, in particular a maximum 260 mm, and in particular a maximum 250 mm.

Hybrid vehicle and generating set

The invention relates to a power unit, in particular for a hybrid vehicle, having a two-cylinder reciprocating piston engine which comprises two pistons guided in two cylinders in a tandem arrangement and two counter-rotating crankshafts connected to the pistons by connecting rods, and having an alternator that can rotate in the opposite direction to the first crankshaft and in the same direction as the second crankshaft. The invention is characterized in that the alternator is in driving engagement with at least the first crankshaft via a traction mechanism and comprises a counterbalance, wherein the first crankshaft is connected via a timing chain or a timing belt to a balancing shaft which carries a further balancing mass. The invention also relates to a vehicle, in particular a hybrid vehicle, having such a power unit.

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine () with at least one cylinder () with a reciprocating piston () coupled to a connecting rod () for rotating a crankshaft (), with an engageable gear () that is comprised of a first gear shaft () that is driven by the crankshaft () through a belt-type stepless transmission () and of a second gear shaft () that is coupled to an intermediate shaft () for rotating a drive shaft (), and with a balancer shaft () driven by the crankshaft (), said crankshaft (), first gear shaft (), second gear shaft (), intermediate shaft () and balancer shaft () being disposed in one common, multi-piece housing (). For ease of manufacturing, machining and assembling, there is provided that at least five shafts selected from the group consisting of the crankshaft (), the first gear shaft (), the second gear shaft (), the intermediate shaft () and the balancer shaft () be disposed in a first parting plane () of a first and a second housing piece () of the housing ().
