The system relates to a system for joining flat, relatively thin members that adjoin one another along their narrow face, the members having grooves incorporated into the narrow faces that are parallel to the surface and have groove walls that are parallel to each other, and the joining element being inserted into the grooves of two adjacent members and bridging the partition gap between the members in the manner of an external tongue. In this context the joining element () has, on its part () that can be inserted in the manner of an external tongue in the longitudinal center on its side that faces away from the visible surface of the members, one continuous web or a plurality of aligned webs () that preferably protrude at a right angle, from which detent webs () protrude on both sides, each of which has a detent projection () that projects toward the external-tongue-like part (), and on the bottom of the member (), which faces away from its visible surface, detent grooves () being provided that run parallel to the adjacent edge at a distance corresponding to the width of the detent webs ().

Flooring panels having a tongue and groove locking mechanism. The tongue-and-groove configuration principle are provided at the areas being connected. The sides of the groove diverge from the groove base and converge at the end away from the groove base. The opening width of the groove is greater than the foremost area of the tongue in the direction of insertion. The tongue exhibits wedge-shaped areas that diverge from front to back which areas exhibit an undercut in the back area of the tongue that conforms to the groove cross-section. The undercut's borders, adjoining the wedge-shaped areas, converge at the same angle as the groove sides toward a connecting bridge that is part of the component.

A method of connecting structural components having a relatively low thickness, the method including pre-applying, at an off-site location, one of an adhesive and a substance which activates an adhesive to at least one of at least one of the sides of the groove of one of the structural components and at least one of the sides of the tongue of another of the structural components, and connecting, at a site different from the off-site location, the structural components together by causing the tongue to be inserted into the groove.

Flooring panels

The invention relates to a novel covering, especially a floor covering or similar, based on panels (') made of wood or a derived timber product, especially (d&#xe9;cor) laminated panels of wood or derived timber products, with a carrier on the underside and a wear layer on the visible side. Said panels are adhesively supported, can be arranged laterally and adjacently, and are provided with laterally, optionally mutually latchable or clickable positive locking elements such as grooves () and tongues (). The covering is characterised in that the groove(s) () and/or the tongues () of individual panels (&#x2032;) or individual surface areas thereof () is/are provided with a filling, and a coating () with an extrusion () or similar made adhesive properties during the lateral adjacent assembly of the panels (&#x2032;) which is carried out by means of the groove(s) () and tongue(s) thereof, and/or made out of an adhesive activator which initiates or activates adhesive properties. The invention also relates to the panels used for the covering and production thereof.

The invention relates to locking elements that are designed in such a manner that they can adopt an initial position into which the boards are brought by especially lowering them in an exclusively vertical manner. A terminal position is achieved by especially subsequently displacing the panels along the common joint. In this position, the two panels can be interlocked in a manner perpendicular to the panel surface and parallel to the panel surface and at the same time perpendicular to the common connecting joint.

Cladding panel

A panel includes coupling elements arranged so that two panels an be connected to one another by a form-fit connection at the same time in a first direction perpendicular to the common joint and in a second direction parallel and perpendicular to the common surface of the panels. The panels may be used to provide a laminate flooring. The form-fit connection achieves greater security during assembly with reference to any enlargement of cracks and inaccuracies when laying parquet flooring. Laid parquet flooring elements no longer slip relative to one another even when subjected to relatively large stresses, thereby avoiding damage and the need for follow-on work. The coupling element is preferably designed as a separate synthetic material clip in the shape of the letter H.

To connect the mutually contacting faces of two sheets, in particular counter tops, in a simple manner such that the top surfaces lie in a common plane, the invention provides an arrangement which consists of two fitting parts () each connected to one sheet (). The first fitting part () is provided with a recess () open to the bottom whose limiting wall () facing the other sheet () has a slot open toward the bottom. The fitting part () fastened to the other sheet () is provided with a threaded hole into which a screw () is inserted. The screw () is inserted into the slot such that the head is accommodated by the recess () and is supported by the limiting wall () accommodating the slot (). To adjust the height, adjustment screws () are provided in flanges () of fitting part () which interact with the base plate of fitting part ().

Device for connecting two sheets, in particular work sheets

The invention relates to flat and/or elongated building components (), preferably wooden, and a structure connecting these components () in accordance with the groove and tongue principle. Two legs () forming a groove () branch off from a front face of one of the components (), and a tongue () branching off from a front face of the other component () can be inserted into the groove (). Locking elements () hold the components () in an assembled position. In accordance with the invention, the locking elements are configured as triangular projections () and cavities () in facing or adjacent surfaces of the groove and/or tongue.

The invention relates to flat and/or elongated building components ( ), preferably wooden, and a structure connecting these components ( ) in accordance with the groove and tongue principle.
