A damper for acoustic waves propagating in particular in a gaseous medium comprises a plurality of vibrational bodies including a plurality of laminas mounted substantially parallel and adjacent to one another. The plurality of laminas are mounted in a housing to form a free space between the upper and/or lower sides of the housing. The laminas vibrate within the free space to dissipate the energy from the acoustic waves.

The invention relates to a torsionally elastic coupling in which the two coupling halves are connected to one another via at least one movement-converting intermediate member and at least one spring member, which allow the two coupling halves to rotate relative to one another. To improve the service life of a torsionally elastic coupling of this type by reducing shear stress and making it possible to subject the resilient intermediate members to pressure, coupling members are inserted between the movement-converting intermediate members and the resilient intermediate members.

Torsionally elastic coupling

A rotationally elastic coupling with two half-couplings can be twisted relative to one another, these half-couplings being connected with one another so as to transmit forces by means of a sprung intermediate link and by means of a movement-converting intermediate link which converts a rotation into a translational movement or, vice versa, a translational movement into a rotation. At least one sheet metal support is provided which is in contact at a radially outward position with one of the sprung intermediate links which in turn is supported rotationally solidly and frictionally at a radially inward position with one of the two half-couplings. The sheet metal support is subjected to forces directly or by means of a coupling element of the movement converting intermediate link, in particular an eccentric or a crank, this movement converting intermediate link being rotationally and rotationally solidly connected to the other half-coupling. Using such a coupling, practically linear and soft spring characteristics can be produced for high torques over twist angle ranges of far beyond 30.degree..

Rotationally elastic coupling

The rotationally elastic coupling makes possible the utilization of large twist angles between the two half couplings by converting the relative twist of the two half couplings into a radially directed translation by means of an eccentric link, a crank link or another appropriate movement-converting link which converts a rotational movement into a translation; the radially directed translation has an effect in the radial direction on sprung elastic intermediate links. The rotationally elastic coupling is particularly suitable for application in motor vehicle clutches and as a suppressor.

An elastomeric loop used as a suspension device, for example for suspending exhaust systems of motor vehicles, includes a closed loop of elastomeric material in which a link chain is embedded, whereby the link chain improves the suspension characteristics of the suspension device.

A sealing mechanism and method for closing the case of an electrical component including a metal disk and an elastomer part wherein the elastomer part as measured from the inside of the metal disk is at least twice as thick in the axial direction as the metal disk, and, prior to assembly, the elastomer part covers and surrounds the radial outer rim and at least the peripheral rim region of the outside of the metal disk axially opposite to the inside of the case.

Tubular case sealing means and method of manufacturing same

A sealing ring assembly particularly well suited for use in concrete pipes through which a liquid is flowed includes a gasket ring and a locking ring which cooperates therewith. The gasket ring is comprised of a resilient material and defines a recess which receives a plastic locking ring which is preferabbly formed by injection molding.

A sealing ring of elastic material, more particularly for a plug-in type pipe joint made up of two concentrically interfitting pipe elements of a mineral material in the case of which the sealing ring can be pre-assembled by insertion into the outer pipe element or socket before the insertion of the inner pipe element or spigot. The sealing ring has a substantially V-shaped axial section profile with the formation of two annular lips consisting of a support lip and a sealing lip. The sealing ring also has a sealing foot, which is opposite to the angle included by the support lip and the sealing lip and said sealing ring can be fixed by its sealing foot and/or by a holding part molded additionally on the sealing ring, by dint of an annular groove constructed in the inner wall of the socket in order to prevent axial displacement of the sealing ring in the insertion direction of the spigot. The sealing ring on insertion of the spigot into the socket can be inwardly axially tilted through the radial plane defined substantially by the sealing foot of the sealing ring in such a manner that the support lip and the sealing lip stand substantially symmetrically with respect to the radial plane. When the spigot is inserted the radial clamping and distortion of the sealing ring makes a sealing engagement with the external casing of the spigot with respect to external pressure, the sealing lip makes sealing engagement with the external casing of the spigot with respect to internal pressure and the sealing foot makes sealing engagement with the floor of the annular groove or on the inner wall of the socket with respect to internal and external pressure.

Sealing ring

A capacitor closure disc unit comprises a metallic plate and a layer of rubber-elastic insulating material injection-molded around its periphery. The plate is dish shaped and includes a flat flange. The recessed central part of the plate forms a centering area which, through the help of centering projections, aids in centering the plate in a mold cavity. The outer surface of the recessed portion can be very slightly concave so that contact thereof with a planar mold section forms a circular edge seal during the injection-molding step.
