A door coupler provided with coupling elements actuated by means of a linkage so as to engage a counter element provided on the landing door and a locking hook that has a closed position and a released position. The release of the locking hook from the closed position to the released position is allowed when the coupling element meets the counter element. The locking hook and the coupling elements are disposed at a distance from each other.

The landing door of an elevator is opened by the opening movement of the car door and closed by the closing movement of the car door by using a door coupler (,) attached to the car door. The door coupler has coupling elements (,) designed to engage a counterpart (,) attached to the landing door. The door coupler (,) is moved in the direction of the car door movement to align it with the counter element (,). After the door coupler (,) has been aligned, its motion relative to the car door is prevented by a blocking device (,).

Procedure for moving the landing door of an elevator, and a door coupler

An apparatus for locking the door of an elevator car includes a lock (12) that locks the car door, a guide surface (9) in the elevator shaft at each landing and a linkage (6) operating the lock (12). The linkage includes an operating lever (17) which, when at a landing, presses against the guide surface (9) via a roller. The lever is pivotally attached to the linkage (6) by a movable pivot (20). When the door is reaching the closed position, a coupling element (2) transmits motion of the door to the linkage (6) to operate the lock (12) using the driving power of the door actuating mechanism.

Apparatus and method for locking and unlocking the door of an elevator

In the overhead supporting beam of an elevator door, the roller races (4,5) for the rollers of the door panels are formed from one piece with the overhead supporting beam (1). The door operating mechanism (11) with the door operating motor (15) is fitted to form a single unit with the overhead supporting beam (1) of the door.

In this overspeed governor, an overspeed condition causes, by way of coupling elements (15,15'), a brake (5) comprised in the overspeed governor to engage a rope pulley (3) which, due to friction, brakes the rope driving the rope pulley itself and thus triggers the safety gear of the elevator. In the invention, the rotation of at least one coupling element (15,15') provided in the overspeed governor and rotating with it is braked by a frictional force which is applied to a braking point (31,32) on the coupling element (15,15'). The combined effect of the braking action and the rotation of the overspeed governor turns the coupling element (15,15') into a position in which the brake (5) is activated so as to engage the rope pulley (3).
