A coupling element for receiving a probe tip in a probe measuring apparatus has a journal at one end with a first connecting/coupling region. A screw insert has a first connecting/coupling region at one end with a recess, in particular for connecting to the coupling element. The journal of the coupling element forms, on an outer surface, or the recess of the screw insert forms, on an inner surface, multiple thread segments or respectively which do not adjoin one another in a radial circumferential direction. A probe measuring apparatus includes the coupling element, the screw insert, a coupling arm/measuring shaft, and a probe insert connected to the coupling arm by way of the coupling element and the screw insert.

A device for adjusting the setting of and/or for measuring a tool includes a measuring element carrier which can move along a first axis (x-axis), and along a second axis (z-axis) that extends at right angles to the first axis, on which measuring element carrier a measuring element for the optical measurement of the tool is disposed. To facilitate the adjusting and measuring process, a reference body, which is able to move between a standby position and a measuring position on the tool, is disposed on the measuring element carrier for interaction with the measuring element.

A rotary cutting tool having an axis of rotation, a shank area, and a cutting area. The rotary tool has chip flutes reaching as far as a core profile in the cutting area. In order to reduce vibrations of the rotary cutting tool and therefore to permit precise machining and high surface quality with long service lives, the center line of the core profile has a course that deviates from the axis of rotation of the rotary cutting tool and/or the core profile contains mutually alternating sections with increasing cross-sectional area and sections with decreasing cross-sectional area over the length of the cutting area.
