Regarding a first radio frequency (RF) carrier, a network node of a wireless communication network configures two or more bandwidth parts (BWPs) in the first RF carrier, each BWP aligning with a respective one of two or more other RF carriers positioned within the RF spectrum spanned by the first RF carrier. The node determines a frequency-sharing configuration for each BWP, in dependence on radio resource usage of the respective other RF carrier and configures wireless communication devices to use respective ones of the BWPs. For example, the node determines a resource-usage pattern for control-related signaling conveyed on the other RF carriers and transmits rate-matching information for the BWPs of the first RF carrier. Each BWP occupies RF spectrum used by a respective one of the other RF carriers, and the rate-matching information transmitted for each BWP depends on the resource-usage pattern determined for the respective other RF carrier.

Method and apparatus for spectrum sharing in wireless communication networks

Methods and apparatuses are provided for centralized radio access network (CRAN) scalability. In one embodiment, a network node includes processing circuitry configured to cause the network node to schedule at least one wireless device according to a radio resource partition, the radio resource partition representing a division of radio resources between at least two schedulers of a same cell, and each radio resource partition of the cell being assigned to a corresponding scheduler of the at least two schedulers; and receive, from at least one scheduler of the at least two schedulers, an indication of an amount of the radio resources that are scheduled by the at least one scheduler. In one embodiment, a network node includes processing circuitry configured to cause the network node to send, to a master scheduler, an indication of an amount of the radio resources that are scheduled by the network node.

Methods and apparatuses for supporting centralized radio access network (CRAN) scalability

According to one or more embodiments, a first network node of a first radio access technology, RAT, configured to communicate with a second network node of a second RAT different from the first RAT is provided. The first network node includes processing circuitry configured to: schedule a physical resource block, PRB, in a predetermined frequency carrier range where the scheduling starts from a predefined frequency location in the predetermined frequency carrier range, receive an indication that the PRB has been scheduled by the second network node, and responsive to the received indication, discard the PRB scheduled by the first network node if the PRB is located outside of a first predetermined partition of radio resources allocated to the first network node.

Method for dynamic spectrum sharing for loosely coupled systems

Embodiments of methods in a base station and a UE are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method implemented in a network node includes any one or more of: selectively puncturing transmission of LTE CRS symbols that overlap NR DMRS symbols in a downlink transmission time interval; selectively puncturing transmission of NR DMRS symbols that overlap LTE CRS symbols in the downlink transmission time interval; and selectively reducing a number of NR DMRS symbols transmitted to the UE in the downlink transmission time interval. In some embodiments, a method implemented in a UE includes identifying, in a downlink channel, subchannels containing NR DMRS symbols that are corrupted due to collision with LTE CRS symbols. For each identified subchannel: a respective time averaged channel estimate is determined based on NR DMRS symbols that are not corrupted due to collision with the LTE CRS symbols; and a respective MMSE weight is determined using the time averaged channel estimate.

Collision management of LTE NR reference signals

There is provided mechanisms for transmission of NR control information in an LTE downlink subframe. At least two symbols in the subframe are allocatable for LTE control information. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises configuring resource elements for LTE transmission and resource elements for NR transmission within the subframe such that NR control information is allocated to resource elements of at least one symbol within the at least two symbols allocatable for the LTE control information in the subframe. The method comprises initiating transmission of the subframe from co-sited antennas, such that the resource elements for LTE transmission and the resource elements for NR transmission are transmitted from the co-sited antennas.

Transmission of NR control information in an LTE downlink subframe

A method and apparatus are disclosed for LTE-NR spectrum sharing. In one embodiment, a method for a wireless device (WD) includes obtaining a configuration of at least one reference signal of a first radio access technology that overlaps in time with a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service Single Frequency Network, MBSFN, subframe of a second radio access technology. In another embodiment, a method for a network node includes configuring at least one reference signal of a first radio access technology to overlap in time with a MBSFN subframe of a second radio access technology.

There is disclosed a method of operating a network node, the network node operating according to a first radio access technology, RAT. The method includes transmitting signaling having communication signaling and Demodulation Reference Signaling, DMRS, in a transmission resource pattern. The DMRS is arranged in the transmission resource pattern according to a DMRS pattern, in which the DMRS pattern is selected from a set of DMRS patterns based on a coexistence indication indicating the presence of cell-specific reference signals, CRS, associated to a second RAT.

Demodulation reference signaling in LTE/NR coexistence

There is disclosed a method of operating a network node, the network node operating according to a first radio access technology, RAT, the method including transmitting data in a transmission resource structure, the transmission resource structure including a first set of resource elements for data and a second set of resource elements for demodulation reference signals, DMRS, wherein the second set represents at least one pattern in frequency domain, wherein the transmission resource structure is scheduled based on a coexistence indication, the coexistence indication indicating the presence of cell-specific reference signals associated to a second RAT. A method for operating a radio access system comprises configuring a first carrier and a second carrier for use for radio access in a first radio access system. The second carrier is configured for frequency division duplex signalling. A useful frequency band of the second carrier is defined to, at least partially, overlap in frequency with a useful frequency band of a third carrier of a second radio access system. At least a part of the useful frequency band of the second carrier overlaps in frequency with guard bands of the third carrier. A method for signal scheduling comprises scheduling, in a first radio access system having a first carrier with a first carrier frequency band and a second carrier with a second carrier frequency band, uplink signals in the second carrier. Network nodes for carrying out the methods are also presented.

Carrier configuring and signalling scheduling in co-existing radio access systems

There is provided mechanisms for scheduling subframes at protocol layer L1. The method is performed by a network device. A method comprises obtaining, at the protocol layer L1, an indication of an occurrence of Listen Before Talk (LBT) failure for transmission of a subframe in an unlicensed frequency spectrum. The method comprises storing, in an L1 buffer, data of the subframe to be transmitted in the unlicensed frequency spectrum as a result thereof.
