An ultrasonic cutter cuts edge chamfers of plate-shaped workpieces using a cutter head which forms an axis of rotation and a blade which extends from the cutter head and forms a cutting wedge, terminating in a straight cutting edge, between flank and contact faces determined by the wedge angle. In order to create advantageous structural conditions, the axis of rotation extending on the blade side of the flank face is at a distance from the flank face which is equal to or greater than the distance of the center of mass of the blade from the flank face and the cutting edge, extending in the direction of the axis of rotation, extends at a distance from the axis of rotation which corresponds at most to the blade thickness.

A chucking apparatus for a workpiece with honeycomb structure includes a table that can be supplied with vacuum and a clamping plate which can be placed on the table and which accommodates the workpiece in the region of an already profiled surface determined by the face ends of the honeycombs, whose receiving surface, which corresponds to the profiled surface of the workpiece, is provided with suction openings to the table. In order to provide advantageous chucking conditions, the clamping plate has an open-cell structure.

A method is described for producing a blank () from a fiber layup () having an edge () forming a chamfer (), wherein the fiber layup (), which is suctioned onto a cutting support () of a cutting table (), is cut through using a contour cut (), which extends into the cutting support (), along the intended contour () of the blank () and is provided with the chamfer () using a chamfer cut () running at a flat chamfer angle (&#x3b1;) along the intended contour (). To provide advantageous production conditions, it is proposed that the fiber layup () is firstly precut by two cuts, which end above the cutting support () and run outside the intended cross section of the edge (), namely a preliminary cut () running transversely to the fiber layup () along the contour region and a relief cut (), which determines a processing allowance () to the chamfer (), and then the chamfer () is cut using the chamfer cut (), which ends outside the intended contour () in the fiber layup (), before the intended contour () of the blank () is produced by the contour cut ().

Method for producing a blank from a fiber layup

An apparatus is for detaching a workpiece from a cutting table. The workpiece is a cutting cut out from a flexible web made of fiber material. A raising device is displaceable relative to the cutting table receiving the web with the cutting and has a run-up surface for the workpiece ascending from the cutting table for progressively lifting the workpiece from the cutting table. A receiving device progressively receives the workpiece after the run-up surface. A lifting device is provided at a distance above the cutting table and includes a receiver which can be adjusted to the length of the boundary section of the cutting facing the raising device and which holds the received boundary section in a transfer position lifted off from the cutting table. The raising device is displaceable between the lifting device and the web resting on the cutting table.

Apparatus for detaching a workpiece from a cutting table

To produce a chamfer or a keyway on a workpiece, the workpiece is machined with a longitudinal feed following the course of the chamfer or groove. To obtain a clean chamfer or groove in an economic way, machining is effected by a peeling operation by means of a peeling knife, whose broadside forming a cutting edge is aligned transverse to the feed direction during the longitudinal feed, and which is guided parallel to the workpiece surface with a certain cutting depth.
