Aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to three-dimensional (3D) printing and, more particularly, to robotic support for 3D prints. For example, a computer-implemented method includes identifying, by the computing device, at least one structure in the 3D object source file requiring support for printing the at least one structure by a 3D printer; adding, by the computing device, to a 3D print file an instruction to request deployment of a support structure at a particular location to support the at least one structure by the 3D printer; and providing to the 3D printer, by the computing device, the 3D print file with the instruction to request deployment of the support structure at a particular location to support the at least one structure by the 3D printer.

In an approach to automatic device enrollment in an IoT network, responsive to receiving a request to add a new device to an IoT network, device metadata is requested from the new device. Responsive to receiving the device metadata, the device metadata is confirmed with the device manufacturer using secure information services. Responsive to confirming the device metadata with the device manufacturer, configuration data for the new device is gathered from a repository, where the configuration data is gathered from devices with a same context type in the repository. Responsive to gathering the configuration data for the new device from the repository, the new device is enrolled in the IoT network using the configuration data.

Methods and systems are disclosed for encoding and decoding data from genetic traits. In one embodiment, the invention provides a method of encoding data from genetic traits. The method comprises encoding genetic traits information, including using quantum dot wavelengths to identify distinct genetic traits, and using numbers of the quantum dots to represent probabilities associated with the traits. In an embodiment, the invention provides a genetic characteristics decoding system for decoding genetic information encoded using quantum dots in a carrier. The decoding system comprises a light source for charging the quantum dots in the carrier; a scanner for scanning the carrier to retrieve information from the charged quantum dots; and a processing system for processing the retrieved information to determine quantum dot wavelengths to identify distinct genetic traits, and to determine numbers of the quantum dots to identify probabilities associated with the genetic traits.

Encoding data from genetic traits relevant to illness diagnosis and heritage

A hardware device, inserted in a universal serial bus port of a computing device, is detected. A counter is set to an initial value of one. In response to determining that one or more device descriptors associated with the hardware device are not received by the computing device within a predetermined time period, the hardware device is prevented from discharging a high-voltage charge into the computing device by inhibiting the hardware device from storing the high-voltage charge in a capacitor of the hardware device.

Location-based validation of a wireless authentication device. A request is received by a security hardware computing device for an action requiring authentication in connection with security hardware. A security hardware location is received or accessed. A wireless authentication device location of a wireless authentication device in possession of a requester is received by security hardware computing device. The security hardware computing device receives a mobile device location for a mobile device in possession of the requester. The security hardware computing device determines whether the security hardware location, the mobile device location, and the wireless authentication device location are in a proximity. The security hardware computing device performs the action requiring authentication in connection with the security hardware.

In an approach for early notification of degradation of 3D printed parts, a processor completes an initial scan of a 3D printed part using backscatter techniques when the 3D printed part is installed and idle in the unit. A processor completes a second scan of the 3D printed part using backscatter techniques when the unit is in operation. A processor determines a baseline delta between the initial scan and the second scan. A processor performs an additional scan after a preset time interval of the 3D printed part using backscatter techniques in operation within the unit. A method for protecting a system from a malicious USB device. The method includes one or more computer processors interrupting a universal serial bus (USB) enumeration process corresponding to a first USB device operatively couple to a system. The method further includes determining whether the first USB device is a human interface device (HID) based on a set of descriptor values corresponding to the first USB device. The method further includes responding to determining that that first USB device is a HID by generating a validation challenge. The method further includes presenting the validation challenge to a user of the system. The method further includes responding to determining that the user fulfils one or more actions of the validation challenge by resuming the USB enumeration process corresponding to the first USB device.

Protecting a system from attack via a device attached to a USB port

In an approach for a secondary mobile internet access, a processor receives a request from a mobile device for a connection to a secondary wireless access point. A processor authorizes the connection request. A processor determines bandwidth associated with the mobile device. A processor adjusts bandwidth associated with the secondary wireless access point to include at least a sum of original bandwidth of the secondary wireless access point and the bandwidth associated with the mobile device to accommodate usage by the mobile device. A processor assigns temporary bandwidth to the mobile device based on the bandwidth associated with the mobile device. A processor restores the original bandwidth of the secondary wireless access point upon detecting an end of the session.

Disclosed embodiments provide techniques for computer networks infrastructure automatic convergence. The network devices are enabled to communicate with other adjacent network devices, independently of the device type, about detected changes that could affect them and together generate consensus utilizing a blockchain mechanism about the configuration changes that are accepted. A priority table specifies a priority for various device classes on a network. The devices, in response to a new network topology, determine if a new device configuration is necessary. When a new device configuration is necessary, data corresponding to the new device configuration is put into a blockchain block and appended to a network blockchain that is maintained by one or more nodes (devices) on the network. In this way, an immutable history of network configurations is maintained, improving network security and reliability.

System and method for network infrastructure analysis and convergence

A method of transmitting an electronic message may include identifying a first bit in a data message to be transmitted. The first bit may have a binary value. The method may also include transmitting, in response to the identifying, a first signal corresponding to the binary value over a second message channel. A method, computer system, and a computer program product for accessing data in a network is provided. The present invention may include reading a control blockchain, by a non-trusted node, to enable the non-trusted node to read an asset from a trusted node blockchain on a trusted node. The present invention may also include reading the trusted node blockchain by the non-trusted node. The present invention may then include creating, by the non-trusted node, a new block on a temporary blockchain based on the read trusted node blockchain. The present invention may further include transmitting, by the non-trusted node, the created new block to the trusted node, wherein transmitting the created new block causes the created new block to be added to the trusted node blockchain.

A fiber optic light intensity encryption method is provided. The method includes determining light intensities associated with multi-frequency light pulses emitted by a laser transmitter apparatus in response to an encryptions process. An encryption type for application of an encryption algorithm to each light intensity is determined and a first light intensity associated with a first light pulse is selected. Data indicating results of the random selection is transmitted to the laser transmitter apparatus and an initial security key is transmitted over a signaling channel of the laser transmitter apparatus. The signaling channel is secured based on the initial security key resulting in a secure signaling channel. In response, a secure bundle comprising said the secure signaling channel and an additional group of channels is generated and the data is transmitted via the secure bundle.

Fiber optic light intensity encryption

An approach is provided for authenticating a payment card. Information is read from the payment card being used for a purchase. The information includes an identifier and data on a chip, in braille cells, and in markings in the payment card. A hash read from the chip, the identifier, and security codes derived from the braille cells and the markings are sent to a payment system. A hash of an (n+1)-th block of a blockchain is received and recorded in the chip in response to validations of the hash as matching a hash of an n-th block of the blockchain, the identifier, and the first and second security codes, and a generation of the hash of the (n+1)-th block. Data about the purchase and the hash of the (n+1)-th block are sent to the payment system.
