An improved process can be used for the acid hydrolysis of polylaurolactam with sulfuric acid. An especially suitable starting material is polylaurolactam which is intended for recycling and which is characterized by a low laurolactam content.

Process for acid hydrolysis of pure polylaurolactam

A molding compound contains polyether block amide (PEBA) based on a subunit 1 made of at least one linear aliphatic diamine having 5 to 15 C atoms and at least one linear aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid having 6 to 16 C atoms. The PEBA also contains a subunit 2 made of at least one polyether diol having at least 3 C atoms per ether oxygen and primary OH groups at the chain ends. The sum of the C atoms of diamine and dicarboxylic acid is odd and is 19 or 21, and the number-average molar mass of the subunit 2 is 200 to 900 g/mol. A molded object can be created from the molding compound, which can be a molded part, a film, a bristle, a fiber, or a foam.

Molding compound containing polyether block amide (PEBA)

A polyamide powder for selective absorbing sintering, SAS, or selective inhibition sintering, SIS. The present invention relates to a process for the bonding of material for the production of three-dimensional objects by selective heating via a laser of wavelength from 100 to 3000 nm. The beam spot may be a focused or unfocused beam spot, or may indeed be spread, as is the case with the diode laser, where the bars may have a stacked arrangement. The selectivity of the melting process is achieved via the application of an absorber to certain subregions of a layer composed of a pulverulent substrate, and then heating of the absorber by laser radiation of wavelength from 100 to 3000 nm. The heated absorber transfers the energy present therein to its surrounding pulverulent substrate, which is melted thereby and, after cooling, has firm cohesive bonding.

Method and device for producing three-dimensional objects using laser technology and for applying an absorber using an inkjet method

A moulding composition contains at least 40 wt % of components a) and b). Based on the sum of components a) and b), there are 60-99 wt % of component a) and 40-1 wt % of component b). Component a) is a partially aromatic copolyamide containing, as polymerized monomer units, 30-90 mol % of a combination of hexamethylenediamine and terephthalic acid and 70-10 mol % of a combination of hexamethylenediamine and a linear aliphatic dicarboxylic acid having 8-19 C atoms. Component b) is an olefinic copolymer containing, as polymerized monomer units, i) 35-94.9 wt % of ethene-based monomer units, ii) 5-65 wt % of monomer units based on a 1-alkene having 4-8 C atoms, iii) 0-10 wt % of monomer units based on an olefin different from i) and ii), and iv) 0.1-2.5 wt % of monomer units based on an aliphatically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride, where the sum of wt % of i), ii), iii) and iv) is 100%.

Moulding compound based on a partially aromatic copolyamide

The present invention relates to a polymer powder which comprises nylon-11, and to the use of this powder for shaping processes, and also to moldings produced from this polymer powder. The moldings constructed using the inventive powder exhibit marked advantages in terms of component properties, particularly surface finish. There are also improvements here in processing and in recycling capability when comparison is made with conventional polyamide powders.
