The invention relates to a cover plate ( ) for a crankcase ( ) of an internal combustion engine. Said cover plate ( ) extends over the entire surface area of the crankcase ( ). The auxiliary aggregates ( ) and filters are mounted on the cover plate ( ). In addition, the cover plate ( ) comprises channels for guiding media. The invention is advantageous in that it facilitates mounting.

For an internal-combustion engine in a V-arrangement, a crankcase has a parallelepiped-shaped construction with a rectangular cross-section. The base side of the crankcase corresponds approximately to the lateral projection in the area of the cylinder heads. In addition, the crankcase has at least one chamber. Preferably, several chambers are provided corresponding to the number of cylinders of the internal-combustion engine. These chambers point from the longitudinal side of the crankcase into the interior. Auxiliary assemblies, heat exchangers, filters and oil supply spaces are arranged in these chambers.

Crankcase and method of making same

The invention relates to a fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine, specially a diesel engine, comprising a crankcase and cylinder heads. Said system is provided with injectors to inject fuel into the combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine and a high pressure pump which supplies fuel to a common rail supplying fuel to the injectors via high pressure lines. According to the invention, the common rail is lodged in or on the walls of the crankcase. This arrangement of the common rail track and preferably also that of the fuel injectors and the high pressure lines in the housing of the internal combustion engine optimally protects the fuel injection system from external influence and damages while at the same time hermetically closing it from the outside by forming an internal leakage chamber.

A cooling system for a supercharged internal-combustion engine has a high-temperature and a low-temperature circulating system, in which two charge air coolers, through which coolant of different temperature levels flows, are provided for cooling the charge air in two stages. The high-temperature circulating system comprises a main branch with the internal-combustion engine and a high-temperature recooler which is connected in series with it. So that the total quantity of coolant may be kept low and a high degree of heat exchange can be achieved while the arrangement of the pipes is simple, the coolant quantity flowing out of the secondary circulating system is admixed to a coolant flow leading to the internal-combustion engine, and the total coolant flow flowing out of the internal-combustion engine is then guided to the high-temperature recooler. The coolant quantity required in the secondary branch is branched off the coolant flow flowing to the internal-combustion engine which flows away from the high-temperature recooler, and to which coolant quantities are possibly admixed that flow away from the high-temperature charge air cooler and from the low-temperature charge air cooler. The low-temperature circulating system comprises a low-temperature recooler with a series-connected low-temperature charge air cooler.

Cooling system for a supercharged internal-combustion engine

An air filtering installation for an internal combustion engine equipped with a supercharger and a supercharger inter-cooler, in which the air filtering installation includes a centrifugal dust separator and a dry air filter with interchangeable filter insert; the centrifugal dust separator is thereby arranged on the suction side of the supercharger and the dry air filter is arranged downstream of the supercharger inter-cooler.

A multi-cylinder diesel internal combustion engine with a supercharger and a charging air starting arrangement which includes a starting air reservoir and a starting air distributor. An additional air reservoir is provided for storing a quantity of supplemental charging air with the additional air reservoir being selectively communicated with air inlet valves during at least an acceleration and/or sudden loading of the engine.

Diesel internal combustion engine

A clamping arrangement for clamping connecting flanges of two machine housings which includes a number of tightening claws or clamping shoes distributed about a circumference of the connecting flanges for clamping the connecting flanges together. Tightening surfaces are provided on the tightening claws or clamping shoes and the connecting flanges for drawing the connecting flanges together. At least one radially extending bolt is provided for each of the tightening claws or clamping shoes with the bolt passing through an associated tightening claw or clamping shoe.

Clamping arrangement

Ventilating and cooling arrangement for an engine compartment of a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine of the type having a radiator for recooling the engine coolant by means of ambient air. A ring radiator is provided which is housed in an air conducting housing which is separate from the engine compartment. The air conducting housing is configured to form two radiator exhaust air chambers at respective different peripheral circumferential positions along the radiator. A first of the exhaust air chambers communicates a portion of the exhaust air from the radiator directly to the engine compartment as engine compartment cooling and ventilation air. The other of the exhaust air chambers communicates the remaining portion of the exhaust air directly from the radiator to the surrounding atmosphere in bypassing relationship to the engine compartment. Air outlets from the second-mentioned exhaust air chamber are disposed above the air outlets from the engine compartment to improve ventilation flow characteristics in the engine compartment.

A housing in the form and size of a freight container in which a machine aggregate driven by an internal combustion engine together with its accessories can be permanently stored and operated; guide surfaces are thereby arranged in front of the openings in the end face at the housings for the supply and discharge of cooling air, combustion air and exhaust gases, which are formed by flaps connected with the housing bottom by means of hinges and pivotal into an angular position relative to the end faces of the housing.

A cooling installation for liquid-cooled internal combustion engines, for example, for use in armored vehicles, in the form of an annular radiator block which is traversed by the cooling air from the inside toward the outside and which includes a radial blower equipped with a rotor axially sucking in the cooling air through an opening of the vehicle housing and arranged on the inside of the annular radiator; a base plate is thereby rigidly connected with the vehicle part supporting the cooling installation and is welded together with the annular radiator block into a self-supporting rigid unit while a bladeless annular space is provided between the radial-blower rotor and the annular radiator block.
