A crop gathering attachment for a crop harvesting machine having a crop receiving mechanism operable, in use, to receive crop from the ground, a first crop feeder, and a second crop feeder disposed between the crop receiving mechanism and the first feeder, is disclosed wherein the second feeder includes a plurality of closely spaced rotary members fitted with retractable crop conveying elements. The rotary members are rotated in use so that crop material is conveyed thereover by the extended crop conveying elements to the first feeder. -

The second feeder mechanism includes feeder elements that rotate in a generally 'apple' shaped path during operation.

Feeder mechanism for agricultural baler

A satellite mower-conditioner comprising a frame, a pair of rotary members mounted on the frame and rotatable about generally upright axes with each rotary member having mounted thereon for rotation therewith a plurality of rotary cutter units rotatable also about respective generally upright axes offset from the rotational axis of the rotary member, two sets of tines stationarily mounted on the frame and associated with the respective rotary members such that the tines of one set define, generally between the rotary members, an angle with the corresponding tines of the other set, and at least two additional sets of tines mounted for rotation with the respective rotary members. The rotatably mounted tines are arranged to cooperate with the stationarily mounted tines to condition cut crop therebetween, the rotatably mounted tines also serving to engage crop as it is being cut and carry the cut crop between the two rotary members to, and between, the stationary sets of tines, and finally to disengage the crop rearwardly of the rotary members.

Mower-conditioner

An oscillating mechanism for reciprocatably moving elongated cleaning shoes axially mounted on the cleaning cylinder of a rotary cleaning device in a combine harvester is disclosed wherein the cleaning shoes are individually reciprocated along a generally axial direction inclined inwardly toward the axis of rotation to convey grain thereon in a rearward direction and help pass cleaned grain through the sieve openings. The oscillating mechanism includes a spider interconnecting a set of rocker linkages corresponding to each respective cleaning shoe and rotatably mounted on a crank portion of a centrally located drive shaft to orbitally move about the axis of rotation. The cleaning shoes are reciprocatably moved in a timed sequence relating to the orbital position of the spider relative to the cleaning cylinder such that the number of cleaning shoes moving forwardly are equalized by the number of shoes moving rearwardly, thereby counterbalancing the reciprocating movements of the cleaning cylinder.

Oscillating mechanism for rotary cleaning device

A crop gathering attachment for a crop harvesting machine is disclosed wherein a feeder mechanism is disposed between the cutterbar and the consolidating auger. The feeder mechanism includes a plurality of transversely mounted rotary members having crop conveying members in the form of helical flanges radially affixed thereto and rotatable therewith. The rotary members are mounted such that the crop conveying members on each of the rotary members interleave with the crop conveying members of the adjacent rotary members. The rotary members are rotated in the same direction so that the crop conveying members constitute in effect a moving floor operable to transfer crop from the cutterbar generally longitudinally of the attachment to the consolidating auger for feeding to the crop harvesting machine for further harvesting treatment.

An automatic bale wagon comprising a frame, at least one load floor mounted on the frame, bale pick-up means operable to pick up bales from the ground for delivery to the load floor, or one of the load floors, conveyor means operable to convey bales on the or each load floor in a predetermined manner and such that the direction of movement of the bales is changed at one or more points in the path of travel, and bale support means movable in synchronism with the conveyor means to support one or more bales at a point at which a change in the direction of movement of the bale or bales is effected.

Automatic bale wagons

A havesting machine comprising a separating mechanism having a separating rotor cooperable with a separator housing including a separator concave and arranged spirally to convey crop material to at least one end thereof while submitting said crop material to a separating action and cleaning means disposed below the separating mechanism for cleaning separated grain. Deflector means are provided which together with the separator concave define an open ended cavity having its open end facing to the cleaning means for leading grain separated through said separator concave to said cleaning means. An air inlet is provided in the deflector means defining the cavity at the upper portion of said cavity.

Combine harvester

A harvesting machine comprising a transversely extending threshing mechanism having a threshing cylinder cooperable with a threshing concave for threshing a layer of crop material fed therebetween and a separating mechanism having a separator rotor cooperable with a separator housing including a separator concave and disposed parallel to the threshing mechanism and being arranged spirally to convey portions of the layer of crop material received from the threshing mechanism towards each of its ends while submitting the crop material to a separating action. A rotary member with a plurality of beater means transversely spaced apart on the width thereof, is disposed between the threshing mechanism and the separating mechanism for orienting crop material in the layer of crop material received from the threshing mechanism generally lengthwise in the direction of movement of the layer. Crop layer dividing means are provided on the separator rotor for dividing the layer of crop material received from the rotary member into said portions prior to the spiral movement thereof in the separating mechanism.

A harvesting machine with crop threshing and separating means; the crop threshing and separating means comprising a separator rotor rotatably mounted in a generally cylindrical separator housing and operable to move crop material across the inside of said housing. The separator housing is formed in part by a separator concave for the separation of grain therethrough, and in part by an impervious cover rearwardly of the separator concave as seen in the direction of rotation of the separator rotor. The concave and the impervious cover have adjacent edges which are spaced apart over a short distance, thus defining an opening therebetween and downstream of the separator concave.

The invention provides a simple, and hence relatively inexpensive, bale accumulator for use in small and medium farming operations and which will reduce much of the present laborious and time-consuming manual bale-handling. The bale accumulator comprises a load bed (6), a load table (20) pivotally mounted to one side of the load bed (6) and movable between a horizontal bale-receiving position transverse of the load bed and an upright bale-discharge position for depositing a row of bales on the load bed (6), and bale pick-up means (25) located forwardly of the load table (2) adjacent the pivotal mounting thereof for picking up bales from the ground and depositing the bales one after the other on the load table (20) for forming a row of bales thereon.

Agricultural bale accumulator

A harvesting machine is provided with a separate improved rethresher for rethreshing tailings to thereby increase the overall efficiency of the machine. The rethresher comprises a rotor rotatably mounted within a cylindrical casing which cooperates with stationary threshing members on the inner curve wall of the casing to rethresh tailings supplied thereto. The casing is provided with internal spiral fins to effect movement of the rethresh tailings generally actually towards a transition opening in a common wall which is located at the inlet opening of the casing and serves as shield for preventing the tailings from being discharged prematurely from the casing. Further provided, is an impeller rotor mounted within a cylindrical casing adjacent the rethresher casing. The impeller rotor is co-axial with the rethresher rotor and is adapted to receive rethresh tailings from the rethresher rotor through the transition opening to discharge rethresh tailings substantially and gently through the impeller casing outlet.
