A video headlight and fiberoptic cable which includes a light and camera assembly adjustably mounted on a headband for assuming a plurality of angular positions relative to the headband. The light and camera assembly includes a light unit closely positioned relative to a video camera unit so that the visual field of the camera unit lies within the lighted field from the light unit in all adjusted positions of the light and camera assembly. The light unit is connected to the forward end of the fiberoptic cable. The rearward end of the fiberoptic cable is connectable to a source of light. The one end of the fiberoptic cable has a flexible, but non-collapsible coupler which bends uniformly when the light and camera assembly is moved relative to the headband.

Surgical headlight

A headlight system for directing light to a work site including a head cap or base, a main housing mounted on the base and positioned on the forehead of the user, and a cartridge or optical housing mounted for axial rotation within the main housing, about an axis which is horizontal and perpendicular to the line of sight of the user. Light from a fiber optic conduit is directed into the housing along the horizontal axis and reflected forward by a mirror and lens system. The final direction of light is variable within a plane and perpendicular to the horizontal axis.

Light source for fiber optic medical instruments and the like

A head mounted apparatus for illuminating a work site, and for transmitting a visual image of the work site to a remote location for viewing on a television screen. A camera and a light source are mounted on a head band which is worn by the user. The camera lens is disposed generally between the eyes of the user to allow viewing of the same image as the user is seeing. The light source is disposed slightly above the camera, and is coupled to a remote light source by a fiber optic cable. The light source and the camera are independently pivotally mounted on a bracket, and the bracket is pivotally mounted to the head band. A series of three pivotal attachments is provided so that the elevational angle of the light source can be adjusted independently of the camera and the head band, so that the elevational angle of the camera can be adjusted independently of the light source and the head band, and so that the light source and camera can have their elevational angles adjusted together with respect to the head band.
