A system and a method for receiving local emergency information on a mobile device in a system having a telecommunication network and at least one local communication network having one or more wireless access points. The mobile device receives a general emergency signal over a broadcast channel of the telecommunication network. In response to the general emergency signal, the mobile device connects to one of the wireless access points and transmits a request for transmitting the local emergency information to the mobile device. The mobile device then receives the local emergency information from one of the wireless access points.

Emergency system and method

The invention relates to a method of determining a location of a mobile device for use in a first communication network and a second communication network. The mobile device is camped on a cellular base station in the second communication network. According to the method, a list of records of communication units within the first and/or second communication network that are located within a predetermined geographical area is obtained. A communication unit record contains information representative of the identity of the respective communication unit, information representative of a position of the respective communication unit, and a reliability indication of the respective communication unit. Additionally, with the mobile device, communication units within the first and second communication network are detected. Finally, the location of the mobile device is detected based on the information representative of the position, the reliability indication, and an accuracy indication of the detected communication units.

Method of determining a location of a mobile device and method of managing a list for use in such a method

A method and a system for service-based authentication of a terminal to a network is described, wherein the terminal comprises a number of communications interfaces, each communications interface allowing the terminal to set-up a predetermined communication channel with the network. The method comprises the steps of: sending a service request for access to a network service; receiving in response to the service request an authentication request from the network; identifying the communication channel through which the authentication request was received; and, sending an authentication response RES to the network, wherein the authentication response depends on the identified communication channel.

Service-based authentication to a network

Methods of determining a location of a mobile device in a first communication network are presented. The mobile device is in communication with a cellular base station in a second communication network. First, access points within the first communication network are detected with the mobile device. Then, one or more of the detected access points is selected based on information provided by the cellular base station. Finally, the location of the mobile device is determined based on the selected access points.

The invention mostly uses conventional procedures with regard to enabling specific end-user to decrypt encrypted content information, but supplies the decryption keys, which are identical for all end-users, only after the end-user has received the encrypted content information and after the end-user has received the subscription information comprised in the specific entitlement management data that specifies the individual rights to access the content information. This approach provides additional control over the conditions under which the content information is played-out by the end-user, and enables to temporally better manage the communication bandwidth available to the service provider.

A personal network, being associated with a user, and a method for securing it are disclosed. The personal network has a plurality of personal devices associated with the user, wherein the personal devices are configured to be interconnected with each other via one or more communication connections, to allow data communication there between; and at least one personal network control unit and/or service configured to control access to the personal network. The control unit and/or service is operable to be in a first mode that allows all of the personal devices to access the personal network, and a second mode wherein at least one of the personal devices has restricted or no access to the personal network.

The present invention provides a solution for providing the location of a mobile device connected to a first mobile network to a second mobile network.
