An apparatus for assembling a bedding foundation having spring modules and a frame includes a support configured to receive the frame, a bridge disposed over the support, and staplers movably coupled to the bridge and positioned over the support, each stapler configured to staple a spring module to the frame. The apparatus also includes cameras coupled to the bridge and positioned over the support. Each stapler is operatively associated with one of the cameras and each camera is positioned to provide a field of view toward the support. The apparatus also includes a driver configured to move the frame relative to the support and a controller in communication with the cameras and the driver, the controller configured to receive vision guidance signals from one of the cameras to direct movement of the driver and of the stapler operatively associated with the one of the cameras.

Machine and method for assembling a bedding foundation

A motorized furniture assembly having seat and back support sections moves between sofa and bed positions relative to a stationary frame by activation of two motorized drive assemblies. The motorized drive assemblies move seat support brackets of a seat section forward and backward relative to the stationary frame. Movement of the seat section moves a back support section between horizontal and raised positions. Two linkage assemblies control movement of the motorized furniture assembly between the sofa and bed positions upon actuation of said at least one actuator for activating the motorized drive assemblies.

A stackable wire core assembly for a bedding foundation which may be nestably stacked with numerous other such assemblies for transportation, thereby avoiding the need to compress and tie the assembly for shipping. The wire core assembly includes an upper wire grid, including a border wire and support wires extending between the ends of the border wire. Each support wire has resilient portions extending downwardly from the plane of the upper wire grid, each resilient portion having a flat bottom adapted to be secured to a wooden base frame and curved arms extending upwardly from opposed ends of the flat bottom.

Apparatus for manufacturing a bedding foundation having a base and a wire grid of support wires comprises at least one vertically moveable staple gun for stapling the wire grid to the base, a support for supporting the base, a horizontally moveable carriage having a first gripper for gripping the wire grid and a second gripper for gripping the base, the carriage for indexing the wire grid and base beneath said staple gun, and a controller for controlling gripping of the grippers, horizontal movement of the carriage, vertical movement of the staple gun, and stapling of the wire grid to the base by the staple gun.

Positioning device for staple guns and method of use

Apparatus for manufacturing a bedding foundation having a base and a wire grid of support wires, comprising at least one vertically moveable staple gun having a staple head and a wire positioner associated with the staple head, the wire positioner being configured to engage one of the support wires and to position the one support wire relative to the staple head such that upon activation, the staple gun staples the one support wire in the intended position to the base, wherein the wire positioner has a fixed positioning element and a movable positioning element, the elements adapted to position the one support wire therebetween.

An innerspring structure for a mattress comprises a row of outer coils formed from a continuous piece of wire with the coils interconnected with interconnection segments and a row of inner coils similarly formed. The interconnection segments of the coils form coil heads for pairs of adjacent coils and each head includes a first linear portion disposed generally parallel to the row. The row of inner coils is positioned together and generally coaxially with the row of outer coils for forming reinforced coil units. A helical lacing structure winds around portions of the inner and outer coils to couple the coils together into reinforced coil units and the first linear portions of the coils are configured for being captured with at least approximately three loops of the helical lacing structure for forming a row of reinforced coil units.
