A structure for a collapsible wheelchair is provided in which the casters are each mounted on a four bar linkage pivoted from a cam actuated rotary lock mechanism on the frame of the chair.

Tilt-in-space wheelchair

The invention is a mechanism for selectively fixing the angular relationship of two pivotaly related structural members in finite steps using a manually actuated, cam-activated gear lock. This provides an adjustable and selectively lockable angular relationship. Fixed and moveable cylindrical cams and a concentric face gear/clutch are used. In one application, the mechanism is incorporated into a four bar linkage.

A circumcision instrument according to this invention comprises a pair of crossed members and a pivot pin fixed between the crossed members allowing for movement of the crossed members toward and away from each other about a common axis, wherein the crossed members further comprise a handle with a finger loop at the proximal end of the crossed members, a clamping tab extending from each finger loop, angular facets on the side of each clamping tab and a jaw at the distal end of the cross member with an upper surface providing a surface along which a cutting instrument may be moved to sever tissue clamped between the jaws wherein the lower surface of the jaws are partially cut away forming a clamping surface on the inner surface of the jaw wherein the jaws of the circumcision instrument close such that tissue is crushed without completely severing the tissue. The circumcision instrument of the present invention offers enhanced safety, simplicity, ease of use, cost effectiveness and reduced surgical time. The circumcision instrument of the present invention is meant to minimize potential complications during circumcision and maximize efficiency. The circumcision instrument according to this invention is also part of a sterile prepackaged circumcision kit for use during the circumcision procedure.

Circumcision instrument

A cutter blade assembly for cutting a product, such as a carrot, into a plurality of finished end products, such as carrot sticks, comprises a blade holder and a first and second blade group disposed within the blade holder. The blade holder has a longitudinal passage formed therein. The first blade group comprises a plurality of first blades radially disposed about the longitudinal passage for cutting a first group of finished end products from the product as the product is advanced through the longitudinal passage. The second blade group comprises a plurality of second blades radially disposed about the longitudinal passage and angularly displaced with respect to the first blades. The second blades cut a second group of finished end products from the product as the product is further advanced through the longitudinal passage. Since both the first and second blades produce finished end products, the utilization of the product is maximized, and the amount of waste generated from the product is minimized.

A compact, light weight, gas flow control system for fluid communication with a source of breathable gas consisting of pressure reducing and regulating means, means to initiate gas flow to a breathing bag, means to rapidly inflate the breathing bag, and means to sense breathing bag deflation and initiate re-inflation.

A compact, light weight, self-contained self-rescuer unit having a source of pressurized breathable gas, and a breathing bag having a plurality of collapsable channels and CO.sub.2 absorption means disposed within the channels, the unit preferably configured in the form of a vest.

Emergency respiration apparatus

Apparatus is disclosed for making a hollow, rib-reinforced article from a composite preform of two thermoplastic sheets. One sheet has a pattern of ridges or grooves, on a surface which contacts the other sheet, to permit the free flow of fluid from a marginal edge to interior regions of the preform. The apparatus includes (1) a heater, (2) mold platens which include a rib-forming mold cavity, (3) a ram to close and hold the mold platen in contact with the composite preform, and (4) a manifold which supplies a pressurized fluid to a marginal edge of the preform, thereby distending the thermoplastic sheet into the mold cavity. Then, the ram is further closed to seal nondistended areas of the preform, forming a hollow, laminated article.
