A labelling device having a label dispenser and transfer device for transferring a row of labels delivered to the transfer device to an article web. The transfer device may include at least one vertically adjustable slide assembly mounted thereon for pressing the labels onto the article web, and the slide assembly may comprise a base plate and a plurality of pressing elements. The slide assembly may further comprise at least one cassette module assembled with the base plate, and one or more of the pressing elements may be arranged on each of the cassette modules.

A press-on device for a labeling machine that presses an adhesive label onto a product package. The press-on device may comprise a slide element as a support for a product package, a conveying unit for conveying a product package along a conveying direction, and a folding element for folding an adhesive label applied to an upper surface of the product package and projecting beyond the package. The press-on device additionally comprises a motor and a press-on unit driven by the motor and moved in a linear movement during operation of the press-on device, the press-on unit being configured to press an end of the adhesive label onto a lower surface of the product package during the linear movement of the press-on unit.

A method for capturing an item of laundry in a reliable and efficient manner. Washed items of laundry usually leave a washing machine intertwined with one another as a pile of laundry. Before the items of laundry that come out of a washing machine in this way are subjected to further treatment steps, for example mangling or sorting, they have to be separated. In the method, the topography of the item of laundry is ascertained and at least one point of the item of laundry at which the item of laundry is intended to be captured and/or preferably can be captured by a capturing means is determined on the basis of this topography. The item of laundry is captured by the capturing means by specific control of the capturing means at this point.

Apparatus for cutting into lengths and bringing together a spine strip with cover boards for the mechanized production of book cases

A conveying device () for vertically transporting piece goods () with inner and outer conveying means () and several platforms () that are coupled to the conveying means. The piece goods are fed to the platforms horizontally in a receiving region (), the platforms lie horizontally while lifted in a lift region (), and the platforms deliver the piece goods horizontally at a delivery region to a delivery conveyor (). The conveying means are driven with a varying transport speed (F), such that the platforms pass through the deflecting region () between the lift and discharge regions with a slower transport speed (F) while the platforms move with a faster transport speed (F) before and after they pass through the deflecting region. The invention pertains to a method and apparatus for producing cases with rounded corners. According to this method, the corner edge () that protrudes in the region of a rounded corner () is initially uprighted and turned over and subsequently pressed on the cover boards () together with the turning-over and pressing-on of the lateral edge () of an adjacent lateral border, in the same station (). The apparatus comprises at least one rounded corner tool () that is arranged in the same station () in the which the lateral edges () of opposed lateral borders that lie parallel to one another are uprighted, turned over, and pressed on the cover. Apparatus for manufacturing book-binding covers including a board-feeding-in system for feeding in cover boards and a back insert and a copy-feeding-in system for feeding in reference copies. A copy cylinder grips the reference copies, guides them past a glue-applying roll, and joins them to the cover boards and back insert. A tucking-in and pressing-on device folds the protruding reference-copy edges round the board edges and presses the book covers on. A feeding-out device delivers the book covers in stacks. The material flow of the book boards, back inserts, reference copies, and book covers is orientated in an ascending manner in relation to the horizontal surface on which the apparatus stands. The gain in height thus achieved compensates for the losses in height in the board magazine, in the tucking-in system, in the feeding-out device, and on the onward conveyers so that the laying-on of the cover boards takes place at virtually the same, ergonomic working height as the taking-off of the book covers.
