A handle assembly is configured to indicate the positioning of an external handle relative to an internal handle. The handle assembly is further configured to selectively lock the internal handle when the external handle is in a selected position.

Flush handle assembly

A latch mechanism for releasably securing a first structure to a second structure. The latch mechanism includes a housing adapted to be attached to the first structure and an actuator pivotally attached to the housing. Selective pivotal movement of the actuator pivots a bolt member between a latched position and an unlatched position. The latch mechanism is sealed to prevent the flow of fluid through the latch mechanism.

Rotary latch mechanism

A blowout latch is provided to latch a first panel to a second panel. The latch is coupled to the first panel and engaged with the second panel. The latch includes a biasing mechanism which is disengagable under pressure to move the first panel relative to the second panel. The latch may also be selectively disengaged with a lesser force than that required to overcome the biasing mechanism by bypassing the biasing mechanism. When manually disengaged, the latch maintains a biasing load on a bolt of the latch. A trigger of the latch is provided to bypass the biasing mechanism and disengage a roller assembly of the latch from the second panel.

Blowout latch

Disclosed is a blowout latch for releasably securing an aircraft panel to an aircraft structure. The blowout latch includes a housing, a bolt, and a handle. The housing includes a bias section that has a plate, a block adjacent the plate, at least one coil spring having opposing ends, a roller mount, and a roller pin. The roller mount has a roller mount base. One end of the coil spring contacts the roller mount base. The opposing end of the coil spring contacts the block. The roller pin is rotatably mounted to the roller mount. The bolt is rotatably mounted to the housing and is used to engage the aircraft structure. The bolt has a secured position. The bolt is held in its secured position by the coil spring which biases the roller pin against the bolt. The handle is rotatably mounted to the bolt and is moveable between a latched position and an unlatched position, without the use of a tool. The handle provides an indicator when the blowout latch is in an open position.

An extended reach latch for an engine cowling and the like, including a housing having a housing slot, a hook pin carried in the housing, a hook having a hook slot, with the hook pin in the hook slot for sliding of the hook relative to the housing, first, second and third links, a first link pin joining the hook and the first link and sliding in the housing slot, a second link pin joining the first and second links, a third link pin joining the second and third links, with the third link pivoting on the hook pin, an outer handle pivotally mounted on the first link pin for movement between an open position and a closed position, and having an outer handle slot for the second link pin, and an inner handle pivotally mounted on the first link pin for movement between an open position and a closed position, and having an inner handle slot for the third link pin, with movement of the inner handle from its open position to its closed position moving the hook into the housing a first distance, and with movement of the outer handle from its open position to its closed position moving the hook into said housing a second lesser distance.

Extended reach latch

A pressure relief latch for latching a first panel to a second panel and for release under pressure, including a housing for mounting on the first panel, a spring loaded detent carried in the housing, and a bolt having a pivot axis and pivotally mounted on the housing for latching engagement with the second panel, with the detent including a free roller and a compression spring positioned along a central spring axis perpendicular to the pivot axis, and with the bolt having a curved exterior shape with a detent notch for receiving the roller. The housing is closed about the spring except for a threaded opening at one end and a roller opening at the other end, and a threaded plug is positioned in the threaded end for loading adjustment. The roller may be spherical or cylindrical.

Adjustable pressure relief latch

A hook latch mechanism for joining two members of an engine cowl or the like, with the hook latch mechanism carried on one member on a mounting bolt and a keeper carried on the other member, and with a keeper engaging hook spaced from the handle. The hook latch includes a body, a hook carried in the body for engagement with a keeper, a handle pivotally mounted on the body at a first pivot axis for movement between latched and unlatched positions, a catch carried on the handle for engagement with the body when the handle is in the latched position, and first, second and third links, with the first link pivotally connected at one end to the body at a second pivot axis, the second link pivotally connected to the handle at a third pivot axis, and the third link pivotally connected to the second link at a fourth pivot axis and pivotally connected to the first link at a fifth pivot axis, with the third link including a mounting bolt opening for pivotally receiving a mounting bolt, and the body including a slot for slidingly receiving the mounting bolt.

Low profile hook latch assembly

A mechanism for adjusting the load applied through the keeper or latch portion of a latch assembly. The mechanism includes a main body, a drive system for applying a preload, a slip clutch mechanism for disengaging the drive system when a predetermined preload is reached, and an adjusting means on the slip clutch mechanism for selecting the predetermined preload.

Latching mechanism having a pre-adjusted load

A sliding hinge for mounting a nose cone or cover on a nacelle or housing, such as an equipment package suspended from the wing of an aircraft. Typically two hinges are used, positioned at opposite sides of the housing, for pivoting the nose cone upward to provide access to the equipment within the housing. Each hinge includes a sleeve mounted in the housing, a slide block sliding in the sleeve, and a slide arm pivotally attached to the slide block and mounted in the nose. To open the package, the nose is initially slid forward from the housing and then pivoted to an upward position. During this operation the slide arm slides out of the sleeve from a retracted position to an extended position and then pivots upward to the open position, with the slide block remaining in the sleeve. A locking mechanism is provided for locking the slide block in the sleeve in the extended position so that the nose cover has to be pivoted downward to the horizontal position in alignment with the housing before the arm and nose can be moved toward the housing to the retracted position.

Sliding hinge with locking

A strut assembly having first and second sections pivotally linked together. An overlying sleeve is extendable to lock the sections together in the extended position and retractable to allow folding of the sections relative to one another. A member is arranged at the joint between sections and biased to extend outwardly into interference with the path of extension of the sleeve. A link linking the first and second sections cooperates with the member to retract same when the strut assembly is collapsed in order that the sleeve will automatically lock the sections together when the assembly is again extended.

Strut assembly

A latch mechanism with a self-latching feature comprising a pin slideably mounted to one body and a handle pivotally mounted to a second body having a latching portion thereon for engagement with the pin. A cam member is positioned to pivot the handle to a disengaged position under action of the pin.
