A semicrystalline multiblock copolymer includes alternating blocks of semicrystalline isotactic polypropylene (iPP) and semicrystalline polyethylene (PE), having a block arrangement according to formula (I):(iPP)(PE)(iPP)(PE)   (I),wherein p is 0 or 1; m is 0 or 1; n is 0 or 1; the sum of p, m, and n is 1, 2, or 3; and the sum of w, x, y, and z is greater than or equal to 40 kg/mol, with the provisos that: when m and n are 0, the sum of w and x is greater than or equal to 140 kg/mol; and when p and n are 0, the sum of y and x is greater than or equal to 140 kg/mol. Related compositions and methods are also provided.

Polyethylene and polypropylene block copolymers

A composition includes a macromolecular polyacrylamide copolymer excipient with an α-end including a ROMP-active norbornene end-group and a ω-end including a terminal monomer with an end group chosen from: a hydrogen atom (H); or a functionalized acrylate with functionality chosen from alkyl, hydroxyl (OH), methyl-polyethylene glycol ((PEG)-CH), hydroxy-PEG (PEG-OH), carboxylic acid (COOH), and combinations thereof. A biological compound chosen from active pharmaceutical ingredients, proteins, polynucleotides, and mixtures and combinations thereof is non-covalently bound with the macromolecular excipient.

Embodiments are directed to compositions comprising (i) amphiphilic block copolymer, (ii) resin material; and amine modified graphene oxide; where the composition shows a synergic effect in critical strain energy release rate (Glc) value versus predicted value calculated by adding (i) the Glc value for neat resin material, plus (ii) the difference in Glc found when adding the amphiphilic block copolymer to the resin material versus the neat resin material, plus (iii) the difference in Glc found when adding the amine modified graphene oxide to the resin material versus the neat resin material.

Described herein is a continuous process for modifying the properties of polyester and polyester based fibers, such as a poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) fiber, comprising subjecting the PBT fiber to alkaline hydrolysis, and optionally further comprising functionalizing the PBT fiber by solution grafting such as fluorination. The alkaline hydrolysis and optionally subsequent functionalization such as fluorination process can be continuous, following the melt blowing/spinning or spun-bonding process. Also described is a nonwoven PBT fiber mat obtained by the surface modification process. Further described is a filtration device comprising the nonwoven PBT fiber mat.

Tuning surface properties of melt blown polyester fibers by hydrolysis and solution grafting

The present invention relates to the use of uncrosslinked copolymers having a backbone comprising i) a plurality of thermo-responsive structural units derived from one or more than one N-alkyl or N,N-dialkyl substituted (alkyl)acrylamide monomer and ii) a plurality of hydrophilic structural units derived from one or more than one second ethylenically unsaturated monomer as excipients in solid mixtures with poorly water-soluble substances for effective solubilization of the latter in aqueous media. Solid dosage forms comprising a solid mixture of such copolymer(s) and poorly water-soluble substance(s) are also within the scope of the invention.

Disclosed herein is a block copolymer comprising a first block derived from a cyclo-alkyl vinyl monomer, a hydrogenated vinyl aromatic polymer or a hydrogenated vinyl pyridine polymers; and a second block derived from an acrylate monomer. Disclosed herein too is a method comprising reacting a first block derived from a cyclo-alkyl vinyl monomer, a hydrogenated vinyl aromatic polymer or a hydrogenated vinyl pyridine polymers with an initiator to form a macroinitiator; and polymerizing a second block onto the first block to form a block copolymer; where the second block is derived by polymerizing an acrylate monomer; and where the block copolymer has a chi parameter of greater than or equal to about 0.05, when measured at a temperature of 200&#xb0; C. to 210&#xb0; C.; where the chi parameter is a measure of interactions between the first block and the second block of the copolymer.

Poly(cyclohexylethylene)-polyacrylate block copolymers, methods of manufacture thereof and articles comprising the same

Methods for recovering monomers from polymers, such as polyurethanes (including thermoset polyurethanes) include heating the polymer to depolymerize the polymer and release the monomer. The monomer may be directly recovered. The polymer may include a poly(&#x3b2;-methyl-&#x3b4;-valerolactone) (PMVL) block and the monomer recovered may be &#x3b2;-methyl-&#x3b4;-valerolactone (MVL).

Recovery of monomer from polyurethane materials by depolymerization

Block copolymers include a poly &#x3b2;-methyl-&#x3b4;-valerolactone (PMVL) block. The PMVL blocks can be formed from biosynthesized &#x3b2;-methyl-&#x3b4;-valerolactone (MVL). The PMVL block may be formed from biosynthesized &#x3b2;-methyl-&#x3b4;-valerolactone (MVL) with aC/C ratio greater than zero. The block copolymers can include hard blocks. The block copolymers can be thermoplastic elastomers. The block copolymers may include a polylactic acid (PLA) block.

Poly(beta-methyl-delta-valerolactone) block polymers

Disclosed herein are polymers made from at least three monomers of formulae (I), (II), (III), and (IV) that may be used in pharmaceutical formulations. These polymers comprise a hydrocarbon backbone and are made from monomers that contain at least one carbon-carbon double bond. Methods of making the polymers are also disclosed.

Sugar free, statistical copolymers made from at least three monomers

Chewing gums and chewing gum bases which are cud-forming and chewable at mouth temperature contains a multi-block copolymer having at least two repeating sequences of at least two different polymeric blocks having at least three monomer units each. The multi-block copolymer optionally includes linking units and may be formulated to have non-covalent crosslinking between the copolymer chains. The multi-block copolymer is optionally plasticized with a compatible di-block copolymer to function as an elastomer system in the gum base. Characteristics of the multi-block copolymers can be selected to produce gum bases and chewing gums having desired properties. In some cases, chewed cuds formed from the gum bases may exhibit improved removability from environmental surfaces to which they may become undesirably attached.

Chewing gums and gum bases comprising multi-block copolymers

Disclosed herein are polymers made from at least one monomer of formulae (I), (II), (III), and (IV), in combination with a monomer of formula (V) that may be used in pharmaceutical formulations. These polymers comprise a hydrocarbon backbone and are made from monomers that contain at least one carbon-carbon double bond. Methods of making these polymers are also disclosed.
