The invention relates to an adhesive binder with a machine frame, a plurality of processing stations that are attached to the machine frame, at least two transport clamps for transporting book blocks, at least one closed guide track for the transport clamps, and at least one device for changing the overhang of the book blocks. To realize a technology-required change in the overhang in an easy and secure manner, the at least one device for changing the overhang of the book blocks is arranged in such a way as to operate jointly with a lower edge of at least one of the transport clamps, so that the lower edge can be positioned in several first planes of the adhesive binder, which extend parallel to the at least one closed guide track.

A device for delivering print shop products supplied in a product stream in two separate stacks contains a transport belt on which the print shop products are deposited, a first deflection roller, a second deflection roller arranged in an horizontal plane with the first deflection roller, a third deflection roller arranged below the second deflection roller, and a stationary fourth deflection roller arranged below the third deflection roller and guiding the transport belt. An actuator jointly moves the second and third deflection rollers in parallel with a horizontal plane from a first delivery position, in which the print shop products are transported to a first stop, into a second delivery position, in which the print shop products are transported to a further stop. First and second first adjustment devices change a distance between the bottom of the respective first and second product receiving spaces and the horizontal plane.

A book binding machine includes a collating machine, a perfect binder and a transfer device disposed between the collating machine and the perfect binder. The collating machine and the perfect binder are actuated by a common control device. In each case, one transport segment is assigned to a respective book block clamp by the control device. The control device also has a program which, if a defective or missing book block clamp is detected, actuates the collating machine in such a way that no book block is collated for that book block clamp. A method for operating a book binding machine is also provided.

An apparatus for pressing a cover onto a printing material block that is moved in a transport direction has a first pressing element that can be moved in a first direction and one or more second pressing element that can be moved transversely to the first direction. The first pressing element, in particular, is a pressing table moving in the vertical direction and the second pressing element one or two pressing rail(s) that can be moved in the horizontal direction. The apparatus has a drive unit, in particular with a servo motor, to which a variable control profile can be applied via a connection to a control unit. The variable control profile allows the movement of the pressing rails, for example their stroke or the course of their stroke, to be adapted to the current processing job. The apparatus is particularly suited for use in adhesive binders.

Apparatus and method for pressing a cover onto a moving printing material block

A positioning device for a positioning element, which is rotationally displaceable about a first axis, including a positioning member engaged with the positioning element. The positioning member is rotatable about a second axis perpendicular to and spaced from the first axis. The positioning device further includes a slotted link disposed on the positioning element and arranged radially about the first axis, a threaded spindle rotatable about a fixed point, and a link block inserted into the slotted link it cannot be turned. The link block is defined by a spindle nut engaged with the threaded spindle. The thread pitch of the threaded spindle corresponds to a predefined range of the positioning angle of the positioning element such that the positioning element is displaceable within the range of the positioning angle by two rotations of the threaded spindle or less.

A mobile feeder is presented for separating flat products, in particular folded sheets, flat sheets, cards, inserts and the like, for printed-product processing machines, such as in particular gatherer stitchers, collating machines or inserting machines.
