Described in detail herein is a usage tracking system. In exemplary embodiments, an usage application executed on a device can transmit a request to a computing system for connecting the device to the Internet. The computing system can include a first server and a second server. The computing system can receive the request for connecting the device to the Internet from the application. The first server can initiate a connection of the device with the Internet. The first server can allocate a range of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to the at least one device based on a set of selected digital services being executed on the at least one device. Each IP address of the range of IP addresses corresponds to a digital service of selected set of digital services executed on the at least one device.

System and methods for tracking the usage of digital services

Systems and methods for avoiding network congestion on a web-based survey system are provided using dynamic profiling of users and transmitting the most valuable survey. The system can receive information associated with a user and a number of surveys requested. The system can prompt the user to respond to the first set of routable questions. The system queries a router for a set of surveys with open sub quotas based on the information associated with the user and the answers to the first set of routable questions. The set of surveys are inserted into a list of surveys. Each survey in the list of surveys is assigned a score based on the priority of the survey, the difficulty of the survey and the urgency of the survey and sorted. The system can transmit at least one survey from the list of surveys.

Systems and methods for avoiding network congestion on web-based survey platforms

The disclosure is directed to systems and methods for estimating the completion time of a web-based survey. The estimated completion time can be determined based on survey parameters associated with the web-based survey. The survey parameters can be based on characteristic values of the web-based survey associated with the survey parameters. The characteristic values of survey parameters can be used to estimate parameter completion times, from which an estimated survey completion time for the web-based survey may be determined. The disclosed systems and methods further permit assessments of survey feasibility.

Exemplary embodiments are directed to prioritizing web-based survey based on a priority score associated with the survey. The priority score can be determined based on priority values that are determined for priority parameters associated with the survey. The priority values can be determined for priority parameters based on characteristic values of the web-based survey that are associated with the priority parameters. The priority score can establish a priority of the web-based survey relative to other web-based surveys.

Survey prioritization engine

A computer implemented method, and a software product for directing a search aided by a set of topics, the topics not necessarily having a hierarchy. Each topic is attached to at least one information item of a plurality of information items, such as a Web page identified by a URL. The method includes identifying one or more information items of the plurality of information items, and determining one or more suggested topics from the set of topics according to the attachments of the suggested topics to the identified information items, and providing search results to the user including at least some of the identified information items and at least one of the suggested topics. Selecting one of the suggested topics generates a new set of suggested topics, such that a hierarchy of topics is formed on the fly for a particular search.

User interface for conducting a search directed by a hierarchy-free set of topics

A method and a carrier medium carrying computer code to execute a method. The method includes defining a set of topics for attachment to one or more information items by at least one user (a registered searcher), the defining the topics including accepting from at least one user at least one topic, and adding the topic to the plurality of topics. The topics do not necessarily have a hierarchical structure. Each topic is for attachment to one or more information item. The attached topics are for searching by a particular searcher for information item(s) according to search request information, including at least one topic of the set of topics, the searching including identifying at least one information item that has attachment to the topic(s) of the search request information. The method further includes defining a collection of attachments that can be viewed and searched by a corresponding group of at least one user, the corresponding group defined for the collection. Each attachment in the collection being between a topic and one or more information items.

Creating and sharing collections of links for conducting a search directed by a hierarchy-free set of topics, and a user interface therefor

A computer implemented method, and a carrier medium carrying computer code to implement the method to generate a customized 'link collection' of topics and items attached to the topics related to a subject of interest to a group of people. The link collection includes items of information, provided, in one embodiment, in the form of URLs. A member of the link collection requires only a computer connected to a server system via a network such as the Internet. In one embodiment, access to the link collection is provided by a Web browser application running on the computer. The collection of attachments can be viewed and searched by a corresponding group of at least one user. The topics do not necessarily have a hierarchy, and a dynamic hierarchy may be defined in the process of a multi-step search.

Authoring and managing personalized searchable link collections

A system and method for allocating the blocks of index file to the postings for words found in documents of a database is disclosed. The index file is provided with blocks that is partitioned into successively decreasing levels of blocks in size. The blocks in each successive level have same size and the sum of sizes of blocks in each successive level equals the size of initial block. An information retrieval interface allocates to the postings for a word a free block in the level the size of which is closest to the size of postings for the word in the index file.

Dynamic indexing information retrieval or filtering system

An electronic device automatically classifies documents based upon textual content. Documents may be classified into document categories. Statistical characteristics are gathered for each document category and these statistical characteristics are used as a frame of reference in determining how to classify the document. The document categories may be intersecting or non-intersecting. A neutral category is used to represent documents that do not fit into many of the other specified categories. The statistical characteristics for an input document are compared with those for the document category and for the neutral category in making a determination on how to categorize the document. This approach is extensible, generalizable and efficient.

Automatic categorization of documents based on textual content

The present invention is method and apparatus for implementing a dynamic collocation dictionary. Bigrams and their frequency in a document are ascertained. Bigrams that are potentially collocations are selected. Entries in a dynamic collocation dictionary are updated for selected bigrams already present in the dynamic collocation dictionary. Selected bigrams, not present in the dynamic collocation dictionary, are entered in the dynamic collocation dictionary.
