A multi-speed sprocket assembly is suggested, including at least a larger sprocket and at least a smaller sprocket. The smaller sprocket has a trailing tooth which is last to engage the chain before moving onto the larger sprocket. The larger sprocket has a leading tooth which either is the first to engage between a first outer link plate pair of the chain or is located adjacent to a first inner link plate pair of the chain. At least the larger sprocket has an upshift transitional region which has a double spacewidth created by omitting a tooth and is immediately followed by the leading tooth. In the region of the double spacewidth, the larger sprocket is embodied in such a way that a crossing chain link comes into contact with the larger sprocket only in the region of the leading tooth.

Multi-speed sprocket assembly

A braking device for a hub with an axle for a running wheel of a bicycle includes a brake carrier plate and an extension arm arranged on the brake carrier plate. The hub is connectable with the braking device via the axle at a drop-out end of a frame part of the bicycle. The brake carrier plate is connectable to a fastening element for a caliper of a disk brake on the frame part for the transmission of brake reaction forces via the extension arm. An adaptor is arranged at the fastening element, the adaptor allowing itself to be pushed together with the extension arm as soon as the axle of the hub is pushed into the drop-out end of the frame part for the mounting of the running wheel.

Braking device for a bicycle

Disclosed is a brake device for at least one axle of a wheel of a vehicle such as a bicycle for braking a brake drum which is connected to the wheel, having a brake carrier, a shoe element, a brake lever with a cam which is arranged between two shoe ends of the shoe element and is preloaded in that area. The shoe element is connected to the brake carrier by a holder and the cam is connected to the brake lever without a bearing, by means of which it can be pivoted. The brake device according to the present invention has the advantage that it can be produced mechanically in large numbers in a simple manner, its characteristics can be influenced by design measures, and it has a high level of efficiency, so that reduced actuating forces result and possibly simplified actuating elements may be used.

Brake device

A gearshift mechanism has at least two sprocket wheels on a set of driving sprocket wheels or a set of driven sprocket wheels, having shifting aids to facilitate shifting a chain up and down, it being possible for the shifting to take place under load. The shifting aids include cone rivets, which project axially out of the sprocket wheel plane and are arranged beneath the toothing of the larger one of the at least two sprocket wheels. The at least two sprocket wheels have different numbers of teeth which are selected for having the highest common divisor possible, the purpose of which is to provide as many shifting aids as possible. The positions of the sprocket wheels with respect to one another in the circumferential direction and the position of the shifting aids with respect to the teeth of the larger one of the at least two sprocket wheels are also optimized to ensure a smooth transfer of the chain from one sprocket to another.

Multiple sprocket for a bicycle gear shifting mechanism

A weight-saving crank arm having two spaced-apart connecting members extending between the pedal eye and the hub of the crank arm. The connecting members are preferably arranged at a relatively large angle with respect to each other so as to transmit the wheel-turning torque through a cross section having a large moment of inertia I.sub.z, where z-axis is the axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the crank arm. So arranged, one connecting member will carry mostly tensile forces and the other connecting member will carry mostly compressive forces during use. Due to this separation of load-carrying functions, structural properties such as, for example, stiffness and strength of the connecting members can be advantageously optimized. For example, each of the connecting members can be precisely and selectively dimensioned such that the tension-carrying member may have a thicker cross section than that of the compression-carrying member since the compressive strength of a material far exceeds the tensile strength of the same material.

Bicycle crank arm with multiple chain wheels

A bicycle power train for bicycles, the bicycle power train including a driving sprocket set and a driven sprocket set. A chain connects the driving sprocket set and the driven sprocket set to one another. The chain transfers torque from a sprocket of the driving sprocket set to a sprocket of the driven sprocket set. The torque is transferred to the chain from the driving sprocket via drive teeth disposed on the driving sprocket. The drive teeth each include a drive flank that engages a corresponding link roller of the chain. Each drive flank has a bevel formed thereon, the bevel being shaped to compensate for the lengthening of the chain with wear. The bevel is configured to maximize the number of drive teeth that can simultaneously engage the chain and participate in the transfer of torque over the life of the chain.

Bicycle and a bicycle having a bicycle power train

Derailleur with at least two sprockets on a sprocket set which is located around a pedal axle of a bicycle, which sprockets are provided with chain transfer assistance measures to assist the transfer of the chain in upshifting or downshifting, whereby the shifting can be done under load in both of these directions. The chain transfer assistance measures comprise a tooth space with a spiral-shaped base, a conical rivet with an encircling sharp edge to locate the chain in the vicinity of its links between the chain plates, as well as bevels, recesses and steps, the totality of which optimize the chain transfer in both directions between sprockets which are coordinated with one another.

Derailleur

A multiple sprocket chainwheel for bicycle derailleurs to drive a hub bushing on the rear wheel by means of at least two sprockets which have different numbers of teeth, and which are located non-rotationally on a chainwheel bushing, whereby spacing connecting rings with bearings and a drive bushing are located between the sprockets, which drive bushing is driven in the driving direction by the chainwheel bushing by means of a freewheel mechanism, whereby the connecting rings have clamping projections which can be inserted into clamping points on the sprockets, which makes possible it possible to have an alternating arrangement in series of a sprocket, a connecting ring, a sprocket, a connecting ring etc. The desired position of one sprocket in relation to another is achieved when a guide tooth on the inside diameter of the one sprocket coincides with the guide tooth on another sprocket. A packet of sprockets combined in this manner has an axially continuous guide tooth which, when located in a longitudinal groove on the circumference of the drive bushing, guarantees the angular position of each part slid onto the drive bushing. The multiple sprocket chainwheel, which can be modified or repaired without tools, can be treated as a pre-assembled component or as a replacement part, whereby its particular advantage is that the individual sprockets can be replaced, or the entire multiple sprocket chainwheel can be assembled manually by the customer.
