The invention relates to an exhaust-gas turbocharger () having a compressor housing (), having a bearing housing () which can be connected at one end to the compressor housing () by means of a first fastening device (), and having a turbine housing () which can be connected to the bearing housing () at the other end of the latter by means of a second fastening device (), with the compressor housing (), the bearing housing () and the turbine housing () extending along an exhaust-gas turbocharger longitudinal axis (R), wherein the second fastening device () is designed as a plug-and-twist connecting device, and a seal () is provided between the turbine housing () and the bearing housing ().

A housing unit for a turbocharger () comprises a rotor shaft () to mount a rotor on both its ends. Furthermore, there is a bearing housing part () for supporting the rotor shaft (), and a turbine housing (), an opening or recess of which facing an end portion () of the bearing housing (). In this way, the end portion of the bearing housing () may be inserted into the opening or recess and may be fastened to the wall of the turbine housing () which delimit and surround the opening or recess. Within the region between the end portion of the bearing housing () and the turbine housing (), at least one heat resistant sealing () is provided which may be formed of a mineral material or of metal.
