A compression limiter assembly having a spring washer and a sleeve. The sleeve includes a cylindrical body and a flange radially extending from a first end of the body. A fastener inserted through the spring washer is received in a through aperture of the cylindrical body. The fastener includes a head, an unthreaded shank portion extending from the head, and a threaded shank portion extending from the unthreaded shank portion having a threaded diameter greater than a diameter of the unthreaded shank portion. An annular swage created proximate to the flange defines an internal protuberance extending into the through aperture of the cylindrical body. The protuberance is operable to prevent release of the fastener by contact between the threaded shank portion and the protuberance. The unthreaded shank portion is capable of lateral motion within a diameter defined by the protuberance.

Compression limiter

A multi-grip blind rivetincludes a rivet body, adapted to receive a portion of a mandrel. A plurality of indentationsare formed in an outer surfaceof the rivet bodyin each of three axially spaced transaxial planes. Each indentationis formed with a work hardened base surfacehaving a convex portion, which is formed with axially spaced first and second transaxial edgesandhaving nonlinear portions. Adjacent indentationsare separated by ribs. A flared intermediate surfaceextends between the base surfaceand the outer surface. The rivetis assembled within aligned holesandof workpiecesand, respectively, where, upon setting of the rivet, the indentationscollapse and the outer surfacebulges against walls of the holes to retain the workpieces together.

Multi-grip blind rivet

A screw-nut fastener assembly in which a nut member is welded onto the head of a screw member having a variety of drive means, such as a straight slot, a cross recess drive or other suitable drive means.

Screw-nut fastener assembly

A self drilling screw for thin metal applications. The screw has a small point for drilling a hole in the thin metal and a substantially larger diameter non-tapered threaded section. Between these portions is an extended length taper having a plurality of thread pitches each including swaging lobes.

A masonry screw anchor having two different constant diameter shank portions connected via a taper. Each portion has a set of constant diameter threads and intermediate smaller diameter protrusions with the threads and protrusions on the larger diameter shank portion being larger in diameter than the diameter of the threads and protrusions on the smaller diameter portion.

A self-drilling and thread forming fastener for fasting a first softer workpiece, such as wood, to a second harder workpiece, such as metal, is described. The fastener features wings of improved configuration including positive angle of attrack, positive cutting edge relief angles, teardrop-like crescent shape across section and knife-like cutting edge which exhibit faster drill times through wood.

Winged drill screw

A threaded fastener is provided having a head for accommodating a tool for rotating the fastener. A plurality of ribs culminating in teeth are provided under the head for engaging the material into which the fastener is inserted, each rib and tooth having a ramp surface and a brake surface, the ribs being oriented for inhibiting either clockwise rotation or counter-clockwise rotation of the fastener by torque created through contact of the brake surfaces with the material. The ribs are formed on the fastener during the heading process by means of a matched die set.

Threaded fastener

A drilling and thread forming fastener is provided having a pilot end with a cutting tip and a pair of flutes formed thereon. The flutes define the length of the pilot end, which is tapered in one direction only over the greater portion of its extent.
