The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a plastic-metal hybrid part by plastic overmolding on a metal surface via nano-molding technology (NMT), wherein the moldable plastic material is a polymer composition comprising thermoplastic polyamide, or a thermoplastic polyester, or a blend thereof, and boron silicon glass fibers. The invention also relates to a plastic-metal hybrid part, obtainable by said process, wherein a metal part is overmolded by a polymer composition comprising thermoplastic polyamide, or a thermoplastic polyester, or a blend thereof, and boron silicon glass fibers.

The invention relates to a thermoplastic polymer composition comprising A. a polyamide B. a reinforcing agent, and C. an laser direct structuring (LDS) additive wherein the polyamide comprises a blend of &#x2014;(A.1) a semi-crystalline semi-aromatic polyamide, and &#x2014;(A.2) an amorphous semi-aromatic polyamide or an aliphatic polyamide, or a mixture thereof; or a blend of &#x2014;(A.3) a semi-crystalline aliphatic polyamide, and &#x2014;(A.4) an amorphous semi-aromatic polyamide; and D. a metal (di)phosphinate. The present invention further relates an article prepared form the thermoplastic polymer composition, and article made by a LDS process and a process for preparing the same.

Flame retardant polyamide compositions comprise (A) a semi-crystalline semi-aromatic polyamide having a melting temperature (TmA) and having a number average molecular weight in the range between 7,500 and 30,000 g/mol; (B) a semi-crystalline aliphatic polyamide having a melting temperature (TmB); and having a number average molecular weight in the range between 7,500 and 50,000 g/mol; and (C) a halogen free flame retardant system comprising a metal salt of a phosphinic acid and/or a diphosphinic acid, wherein TmA is higher than TmB and weight ratio of (A):(B) is in the range between 50:50 and 75:25. Process for moulding the flame retardant polyamide composition, and moulded parts made of the flame retardant polyamide composition are also provided.

The invention relates to a flame retardant polyamide composition comprising (A) a semi-crystalline semi-aromatic polyamide, (B) a semi-crystalline aliphatic polyamide and (C) a halogen free flame retardant system comprising a metal salt of a (di)phosphinic acid, a melamine condensation product, a polyphosphate salt of melamine or a polyphosphate salt of a melamine condensation product, or any mixture thereof; wherein the weight ratio of (A):(B) is in the range of 75:25-98:2, and (B) has a number average molecular weight (Mn) of more than 7500 g/mol. The invention also relates to an article made of the flame retardant polyamide composition.
