A method determines a mobile communications network quality for downloading mobile communications data. Data which quantify the mobile communications network quality in a current location of a respective motor vehicle, is continually acquired using acquisition units provided in the motor vehicle. This data is transferred to a database in which it is stored. A route of a select motor vehicle is determined. A data record quantifying the mobile communications network quality along the route, is retrieved from the database. Mobile communications data is downloaded to a memory of the select motor vehicle taking the data record into consideration. A total data record quantifying the mobile communications network quality is determined at predetermined intervals by a data processing device, taking into consideration the data transferred to the database, and the data record quantifying the mobile communications network for the select motor vehicle is obtained from this total data record.

Method and system for determining a mobile communications network quality and downloading mobile communications data

A method makes data available in a motor vehicle. A user query is entered using an input device of the motor vehicle. A plurality of sources are searched for data corresponding to the user query, and the search result associated with the found data is displayed by a display device of the motor vehicle. Respective applications of the motor vehicle are assigned to the search results by a data processing device. The applications are designed to reflect the data formats associated with the search results. Only these applications are displayed by the display device. A corresponding system makes the data available in the motor vehicle.

The invention relates to a method for acoustically emitting audio broadcasting signals in a vehicle, wherein audio broadcasting signals can be transmitted into the vehicle and received there over a first and at least a second reception path, wherein the first reception path is evaluated by means of at least one criterion parameter on the basis of an audio broadcasting signal that can be received over the first reception path, and the second reception path is likewise evaluated by means of a criterion parameter on the basis of the audio broadcasting signal that can be received over the second reception path. During an emission of the audio broadcasting signal over one of the reception paths, a preparation phase for preparing a switchover from the current reception path to the other reception path is started on the basis of a comparison of the criterion parameter of the current reception path to a first threshold value (S). In the preparation phase, the criterion parameter of the current reception path is compared to a second threshold value (S) that is lower than the first threshold value (S), and an examination of the switchover to the other reception path is performed if the criterion parameter of the current reception value is below the second threshold value (S).

In a method for operating a motor vehicle, data obtained from outside the motor vehicle, which indicate the existence of a hazardous situation, are transmitted to a receiving device. A warning concerning the hazardous situation is communicated to the user of the motor vehicle. In addition to the external vehicle data, data obtained from inside the vehicle, which indicate the existence of a hazardous situation, are evaluated. The warning is communicated to the user of the vehicle subject to the evaluation of the data obtained from outside the vehicle and the data obtained from inside the vehicle.
