A method is indicated for operating a hearing aid, wherein the hearing aid is switchable between a usage state, in which a signal processing unit of the hearing aid is activated, and an idle state, in which the signal processing unit is deactivated. The hearing aid has a time measuring unit, which has a first timer and a second timer. The first timer is activated in the usage state and is deactivated in the idle state, for time measurement during the usage state. The second timer is activated in the idle state for time measurement during the idle state. Furthermore, a corresponding hearing aid is indicated.

A connector for a hearing instrument, in particular a receiver-in-canal behind-the-ear hearing aid, is small and visually inconspicuous. The connector should be as invisible as possible on the hearing instrument as it is worn, and the connector allows a microphone arrangement favorable for directionality and sound pick-up. The connector is disposed on an earpiece tube, which defines a longitudinal direction at the connector. The connector is connected by insertion into a connector receptacle of a hearing instrument transversely to the longitudinal direction. The hearing instrument has a laterally arranged connector receptacle, into which a connector is inserted transversely to the longitudinal direction. Because of the transverse insertion, the connector can be arranged laterally on the housing and because of the lateral placement, the front end face of the housing is smaller and the housing is overall flatter. A microphone can be arranged on the end face instead of the connector so as to improve sound pick-up and directionality.

A current noise situation is recognized both depending on the location and depending on time. Whichever program is assigned to the current noise situation is selected and set. A hearing device contains an electronic frame for holding electronic components. The hearing device has first and second resilient contacts. The resilient contacts are fastened to the electronic frame, and the resilient contacts reversibly electrically contact an electronic component using contact surfaces of a double-pole battery. A method is provided for operating a hearing aid apparatus including two hearing aids being signal-coupled by a wireless first communication link with a comparatively short range and by a wireless second communication link with a comparatively long range. Each hearing aid has an integrated motion sensor for capturing a fall of the respective hearing aid. A first signal level of the first communication link is monitored and compared to a stored first threshold in each hearing aid. A notification signal is transmitted from the first hearing aid over the second communication link when the motion sensor captures a fall and the first signal level reaches or drops below the first threshold. Upon reception of the notification signal, a perceivable first information signal is produced by the second hearing aid as a protection against loss. A hearing aid apparatus is also provided for carrying out the method.

The earpiece can be inserted into the external auditory canal of a user of the hearing device for operating the hearing device. The power supply unit includes a rechargeable power supply and an actuating and control device. The hearing instrument further includes a switching device that is configured to assume at least two switching states, and the actuating and control device is configured to actuate a switched-off state of the hearing instrument depending on the switching state of the switching device. A hearing aid includes a hearing aid housing and an antenna device constructed to receive and/or transmit electromagnetic waves having a predetermined wavelength lambda. The antenna device has a frame incorporated in the hearing aid housing for holding assemblies of the hearing aid and the frame has an electrically conductive structure being an integral part of the frame. A method for producing a hearing aid includes patterning a surface of the frame, applying an electrically conductive layer to the surface of the frame and incorporating the frame into the hearing aid housing.
