A configuration tool includes a tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for configuring a model of a technical system and displaying the model on a display connected to a computer. The model includes at least two model components. Each model component has at least one port. Each model component is displayable in an expanded component representation on the display. The at least one port of each model component is connectable to at least one port of another model component by port association lines. Each model component is displayable in an expanded line representation on the display along with the at least one port and the port association lines of each model component. At least for one selected model component the port association lines connected to ports of the selected model component can be selected to be displayed in a reduced line representation.

Configuration tool for configuring a model of a technical system

In a method for changing a configuration of a programmable logic module, an initial configuration of the programmable logic module is read in, with a result that a logic description, in particular a mapped netlist, of the initial configuration is at least partially available. One or more logic elements and/or connection elements from the logic description of the initial configuration of the programmable logic module are replaced or reconfigured and a logic description of a target configuration having one or more additional logic elements are created, none or a plurality of elements of the initial configuration being missing in the target configuration. Assignment information is used to determine transfer points, that is to say logic elements present in the target configuration and the initial configuration, in particular registers, and/or connection elements, to which a changed logic function is applied in the target configuration, at least the logic elements of the programmable logic module which are already unused in the initial configuration being marked as free, and the additional logic elements of the target configuration being placed on the logic elements marked as free and being connected to the transfer points via unused connection elements. A changed bit stream is created from the logic description of the target configuration, and the changed bit stream is written to the programmable logic module.

Method for changing the configuration of a programmable logic module

A method for generating software for a hardware component of a measuring, control, or regulating system having a processor, an FPGA, and a plurality of I/O channels. The I/O channels are connected to the FPGA and the FPGA is connected to the processor via a communications interface. The method includes the steps of selecting a first subset of the I/O channels for operation by the FPGA, generating a first application for execution in the FPGA, selecting a second subset of the I/O channels for operation by the processor, and generating a second application for execution on the processor. The step of generating a first application comprises generating code for connecting the second subset of I/O channels to the communications interface. The invention relates in addition to a method for operating a hardware component.

Flexible allocation of I/O channels of a hardware component

A configuration device is provided for configuring a control system that includes at least one electronic processing unit and at least one associated I/O device. At least a portion of a control program is generated that corresponds to a configuration and is used for controlling the control system. The configuration device has at least one display device. The display device allows at least one I/O access point to be displayed in a model configuration field and/or at least one hardware functionality to be displayed in a function configuration field and/or at least one hardware interface to be displayed in an interface configuration field. It is possible to associate at least one I/O access point and at least one hardware functionality with one another and/or to associate at least one hardware functionality and at least one hardware interface with one another.
