A communication system includes a plurality of transmitters and a receiving unit. The transmitters are configured to divide signals to be emitted into K part signals and to emit the K part signals using K sub-carriers. K is an integer. The K sub-carriers are frequency bands having a sub-carrier bandwidth and are spaced in frequency. The receiving unit is configured to receive signals emitted by the transmitters. The invention further refers to a transmitter.

Communication system and transmitter

Disclosed herein is a transceiver for a satellite, where the transceiver includes a receiver, a digital data stream processor and at least one transmitter. The receiver is configured to receive an uplink data stream from a satellite gateway or another satellite where the data stream carries a plurality of data packets. The digital data stream processor is configured to process the uplink data stream, to obtain the plurality of data packets, where at least one of the data packets includes payload data and error correcting data allowing a full error correction of the payload data. The data stream processor is further configured to perform no or only a partial error correction of the payload data of the at least one data packet, to obtain a downlink data stream. The transmitter is configured to transmit the downlink data stream to user terminal or another satellite.

Regenerative payload using end-to-end FEC protection

A phase shifter includes a signal input, a signal output, an ESD protection circuit, first and second signal paths between the signal input and the signal output. The ESD protection circuit includes first and second two port devices, each two port device being switchable between a high impedance state and a low impedance state. The first signal path includes the first two port device of the ESD protection circuit and a first delay line configured to provide a first phase shift to a signal transmitted from the signal input to the signal output via the first signal path. The second signal path includes the second two port device of the ESD protection circuit and a second delay line configured to provide a second phase shift, different from the first phase shift, to the signal transmitted from the signal input to the signal output via the second signal path.

Phase shifter

A receiver has an input for an incoming signal, the incoming signal possibly having a wanted signal and one or more interference signals. The receiver further has a signal source for providing a predetermined signal that is substantially identical to at least a portion of at least one interference signal of the one or more interference signals. The receiver also has a signal analyzer for analyzing the incoming signal regarding at least one known signal component of at least one of the one or more interference signals to obtain at least one interference signal parameter. A cancellation signal generator generates a cancellation signal on the basis of the at least one interference signal parameter. The receiver further has an interference canceller for at least partially cancelling the at least one interference signal by applying the cancellation signal to the incoming signal. A corresponding transmitter and a method for interference cancellation are also disclosed.
