The present invention provide an apparatus, devices and/or systems for the installation of building material which allows one individual on his own to install building material. The device includes at least one resting surface spaced apart from a fastener.

Device and method for installing building material

A drip chamber includes an elongated transparent container, and a cap. The container has open proximal and distal ends. The cap covers the distal end and further includes a drip forming tube, a cannula and an attachment element used to removably attach the chamber to a connector. The cannula extends distally away from the chamber and is surrounded by the attachment element. A pathway for fluid is established through the cannula and into the chamber.

An IV set includes a drip chamber having a top end and a bottom end. A spikeless connector covers the top end, and an IV tube is connected to the bottom end of the drip chamber. The end of the IV tube opposite the drip chamber is engaged with a needleless/spikeless connector. Thereby, a needleless/spikeless IV set is rendered. A reflux valve including a deformable valve member and reciprocating valve element is also disclosed for use in conjunction with the needleless/spikeless IV connectors.

An IV port body defining an IV port includes a valve body configured as a luer fitting, and a movable valve member defining an outer periphery that is uninterrupted within the periphery is disposed in the valve body. The valve member is biased to a first configuration, wherein a passageway for fluid communication is not established through the valve body. Also, the valve member can be moved to a second configuration, wherein fluid communication through the body is permitted.

A drip chamber has an open distal end and a luer fitting is positioned in the open distal end of the drip chamber to engage a complementary fitting associated with another IV component, e.g., an IV fluid bag. Thus, the drip chamber can be engaged with an IV bag without the use of 'sharps'.

A syringe for sequentially injecting a plurality of liquids into an intravenous (IV) infusion component that has a connector fitting includes a syringe vessel having a preferably needleless injection port that is engageable with the connector fitting of the IV component. A syringe plunger is slidably disposed in the syringe vessel, and at least one barrier plunger is slidably disposed in the syringe vessel between the injection port and the syringe plunger. The barrier plunger is formed with a pathway for fluid communication therethrough, and a fluid-tight membrane is positioned in the pathway of the barrier plunger to block fluid communication through the pathway. A non-sharp nipple extends inwardly from the injection port for breaking the membrane of the barrier plunge when the barrier plunger is urged against the nipple. A first liquid is disposed in the syringe vessel between the barrier plunger and the injection port and a second liquid is disposed in the syringe vessel between the two plungers. The syringe plunger can be advanced against the second liquid toward the injection port, thereby urging the barrier plunger against the first liquid to expel the first liquid through the injection port. As the syringe plunger is advanced further into the vessel, the barrier plunger is urged against the nipple of the injection port to break the membrane, thereby establishing a pathway for fluid communication through the channel of the barrier plunger for expelling the second liquid through the injection port.

A hollow spike has a pointed distal end, a proximal end, and a luer fitting positioned in the proximal end of the spike to engage a complementary fitting associated with another IV component, e.g., an IV line. A reflex valve is disposed in the luer fitting to permit fluid flow through the spike when a complementary fitting is connected to the luer fitting of the spike, and to prevent fluid flow through the spike when no fitting is engaged with the fitting of the spike.

A liquid medicament bag has at least one opening and a valve associated with the opening. The valve is normally closed to prevent fluid communication through the opening. A needleless connector can be engaged with the valve to open the valve and thereby establish a passageway for fluid communication through the opening. The valve can be held within a rigid valve assembly, familiarly referred to as a 'boat' assembly, which is positioned in the bottom seam of the bag.

A syringe plunger is slidably disposed in the syringe vessel, and at least one barrier plunger is slidably disposed in the syringe vessel between the injection port and the syringe plunger. The barrier plunger is formed with a pathway for fluid communication therethrough, and a valve is positioned in the pathway of the barrier plunger to block fluid communication through the pathway. A nipple extends inwardly from the injection port for opening the valve of the barrier plunger when the barrier plunger is urged against the nipple. A first liquid is disposed in the syringe vessel between the barrier plunger and the injection port and a second liquid is disposed in the syringe vessel between the two plungers. The syringe plunger can be advanced against the second liquid toward the injection port, thereby urging the barrier plunger against the first liquid to expel the first liquid through the injection port. As the syringe plunger is advanced further into the vessel, the barrier plunger is urged against the nipple of the injection port to open the valve, thereby establishing a pathway for fluid communication through the channel of the barrier plunger for expelling the second liquid through the injection port.

Multi-liquid medicament delivery system with reflex valves

An apparatus and method for organizing and hanging a plurality of I.V. bags on an I.V. pole includes a solid back and a plurality of spaced apart resilient loops, which apparatus fits over a horizontal support bar on the I.V. pole. The resilient loops are movable between an open position and a closed position. The loops are biased to be in the closed position normally, with a free end of the loop overlapping the top edge of the back. The loop is moved to the open position to place I.V. bags onto the loops, and suspend the I.V. bags at spaced apart intervals in organized fashion. The apparatus includes an unobstructed span having a restraining member to secure the apparatus to the I.V. pole. Some or all loops may include locking members to lock the loops in the closed position.
