A mechanical assembly for securing a first sheet to a second sheet includes a first projection having a first sidewall and a first top wall. The first sidewall extends from the first top wall at a first acute angle. The first sidewall includes a first top end and a first bottom end. A first discontinuity is defined in the first sidewall between the first top end and the first bottom end. A first base wall extends from the first bottom end. The first base wall extends generally parallel to the first top wall.

Mechanical assembly for securing sheets and related method

A splash bar for mounting to a splash bar hanger in a cooling tower includes a first leg defining a longitudinal axis of the splash bar and openings defined through the first leg. The first leg having an outer surface. The outer surface including surface features thereon. The surface features extending at least one of at an acute angle and generally perpendicularly relative to the longitudinal axis. The surface features designed and configured to promote droplet and cooling medium jet formation during operation of the cooling tower.

Cooling tower splash bar and related assembly

A storm water drain tank module for assembly into a storm tank for storage of storm water includes a top platen, a bottom platen and a support spacer. The top platen has an upper surface and a top platen peripheral edge. The bottom platen has a bottom surface and a bottom platen peripheral edge. The support spacer is attached to the top and bottom platens to space the top platen relative to the bottom platen. A plurality of tabs and a plurality of slots are defined proximate the top and bottom platen peripheral edges, respectively. Each of the plurality of tabs extends outwardly away from the top and bottom platen peripheral edges, respectively, and each of the plurality of slots extends into the top and bottom platen peripheral edge. The plurality of slots is open in a lateral direction.

Storm water drain tank and assembly

A cooling tower splash bar hanger assembly includes a grid comprised of a plurality of wires, including vertical and horizontal wires, defining a plurality of slots. The plurality of vertical wires includes a first vertical wire and a second vertical wire. The plurality of slots includes a first slot. The first slot defines a first slot width. A first splash bar defines a first bar width and is configured for positioning in the first slot supported by one of the plurality of horizontal wires. A second splash bar defines a second bar width. The second splash bar is supported by the one of the plurality of horizontal wires. The first slot width is greater than the first bar width and the second bar width. The first slot width and the first bar width define a size ratio of approximately two to one or greater than two to one.

Cooling tower splash bar hanger and related assembly

A fill sheet for cooling heat transfer fluid in a cooling tower includes an air intake end, an air outlet end, a top edge and a bottom edge. The air outlet end is positioned opposite the air intake end along a lateral axis. The top edge connects the air intake end and the air outlet end and the bottom edge also connects the air intake end and the air outlet end. The bottom edge is positioned opposite the top edge along a vertical axis. A plurality of flutes extends generally parallel to the lateral axis between the air intake end and the air outlet end. An offset extends generally parallel to the vertical axis. A first flute of the plurality of flutes transitions from a first peak at a first side of the offset to a first valley at a second side of the offset.

Fill sheets and related fill pack assemblies

A fill pack includes a first fill sheet defining an air intake edge, an air exit edge and an airflow axis extending between the air intake edge and the air exit edge. The first fill sheet defines a first flute section having a first inlet end, a first outlet end and a first peak extending between the first inlet end and the first outlet end. A second fill sheet defines a second flute section having a second inlet end, a second outlet end and a second peak extending between the second inlet end and the second outlet end. The first peak extends relative to the second peak such that a first flute portion defined by the first and second flute sections has a cross-sectional shape that changes between the first and second inlet ends and the first and second outlet ends.

An open mesh member for insertion into a cooling tower utilizing polluted or clean water and counterflow or crossflow airflow includes a plurality of corrugations including upper support frames, lower support frames and a wall strand. The upper and lower support frames extend at a corrugation angle relative to a height axis. The corrugations have a plurality of openings through a thickness of the mesh member. A planar edge positioned at a first end of the mesh member. A beveled edge positioned at a second end of the mesh member. The beveled edge includes a first bevel extending distally from one of the upper support frames. The bevel includes first and second legs and a distal end. The first and second legs extend substantially parallel relative to the associated upper support frame.

Open mesh members and related fill packs

An apparatus for monitoring alignment of a transverse member conveyor wherein the member is attached transversely at opposite end portions to two parallel endless chains and includes two position sensors affixed and located transversely adjacent to each chain and each other. One or more targets are attached to link of each chain, and at predetermined distances from the member. The position sensors inductively or magnetically sense the relative position of the target on each chain with respect to the respective position sensor adjacent the chain, and send a signal comparing the target and sensor proximity with respect to the target on each chain. This allows determination of whether the opposite end portions of the member attached to the respective chains are aligned transversely within predetermined tolerance limits. Another aspect is monitoring a single position on an endless chain. Another aspect monitors chain catenary.

A ground reinforcing structure includes first and second reinforcement sheets. The first reinforcement sheet has a first plurality of structural support rows and a connector row. The first plurality of structural support rows includes a first support row and a second support row. The connector row includes a first connector and a second connector. The second reinforcement sheet has a second plurality of structural support rows. The second plurality of structural support rows includes an end structural support row that has a first structural support connector and a second structural support connector. The first and second structural support connectors are secured by a first structural rib. The first connector is nested within the first structural support connector and the second connector is nested within the second structural support connector to secure the first reinforcement sheet to the second reinforcement sheet.

Ground reinforcing structure and related method

A wastewater or sludge treatment fixed film cross-flow distribution media corrugated sheet (&#x2033;) and assemblies (&#x2033;) thereof include corrugations (&#x2033;), angled of about 10&#xb0; to about 80&#xb0; to the top and the bottom of the sheet and the assemblies. The sheet has a unitarily formed baffle (&#x2033;) along at least a top portion of an exposed side of the sheet (&#x2033;) or assemblies (&#x2033;) exposed to denser wastewater or sludge outside of the assemblies than within the assemblies that is sufficient, when joined with either a like baffle (&#x2033;) on a like sheet (&#x2033;) or optional substantially planar interstitial sheets (&#x2033;) adjacent the corrugated sheets, to substantially block air used in a sparging system from exiting or the denser wastewater or sludge being treated from entering the exposed side (&#x2033;) of the sheet or the exposed side (&#x2033;) of the assemblies. Beneficial biomass forming biofilm on the surfaces within the assemblies is controlled, effectively treating the wastewater or sludge.

Undulating cross-flow fixed film distribution media with unitarily formed end baffle

A packing element has components that form snap-lock connections with like packing elements used to form a contact assembly. The packing elements can be readily and easily assembled together using little force by connecting the packing elements with connectors in a snap-lock manner. The packing elements are retained by the snap-lock connectors in the contact assembly such that the packing elements cannot be separated without such force that the material forming at least one of components of the snap-lock connections or the packing element will fail to the extent that a contact assembly made using the packing elements would not be functional.
